Meaning of lakh and crore vol.11

Although English is the official language of India, the country customarily uses unique expressions for counting some numbers. The most typical examples are lakh and crore. Lakh means 100,000 and crore means 10 million. This is an example of Hindi being used as it is in Indian English. Lakh is also sometimes abbreviated idiomatically as lac or laks.
