Hello!I went to watch "Godzilla vs Kong" the other day, so I want to talk about my impression.
When I watch movies, I really want to talk to someone about them. If anyone watched this movie, please let me know what you think of it. I also love listening to and reading reviews because I can get different perspectives from others. This video is just my impression, so it may not have obvious spoilers from what I say, but please do not watch it if you don't want to get any information at all.

overall impression

First of all,  I watch Hollywood Godzilla movies as wrestling movies, so I think it's enough to enjoy them as simple entertainment. In that sense, my rating for this movie is high. I enjoyed it for a little less than 2 hours as if I was riding an attraction. If possible, you should definitely watch on a big screen like IMAX. I think it matches a movie the size of Godzilla and King Kong. I don't think it's necessary to put too much effort into the main story or human drama, so I'm not dissatisfied with the fact that the script is not well written. To be honest, I don't care about that. Regarding this movie, anyway, I was happy to watch powerful images of monsters in battle, the battle between Godzilla and King Kong, so in that sense it was the best entertainment value.

About plot

I don't think the script is good.　I wonder if they couldn't put more effort into the script.　I felt that it was overloaded with various details, despite the lack of explanation.　However, I felt that some points were cute or absurd and I burst into laughter in places where I probably shouldn't laugh. "What?" "What the hell?"
The audience may not be looking forward to the depth of the story, so I thought it was a reasonable choice that they didn't focus on that. Instead of making a very good script, they might have focused on making more battle scenes. So, overall,  as an entertaining movie, it succeeded.

Unfortunately, the villains in this movie were too weak. Both humans and Mechagodzilla. Probably because the highlight was the battle of Godzilla and King Kong, so it was okay, but if there was a stronger villain as the last boss, it had insufficient build-up, I guess.

About casting

In the first place, the human drama was weak in this movie, so it didn't matter who played the characters. Of course, the main characters are Godzilla and King Kong, so I think anyone could have been cast.

Millie Bobby Brown, who appeared in the previous Godzilla movie, has become very beautiful.

Looking at her from Stranger Things, I think she's grown tremendously, she's becoming a woman from a girl, and I hope she'll continue to be a good actress. She is my favorite actress among young actors. Also, the girl who talks with King Kong in sign language was very cute. I have no particular impressions about other actors.

Ah, one young actor named "Shun Oguri" who is famous in Japan was cast. Did he need to be?  It may be an appearance as a service to a Japanese audience. 

Although he played a role that seemed to be quite important, at the end, he did not appear at all as if he had been forgotten, and he had few lines. Although it seems to be an important role, the depth as a character was completely zero. Well, in the first place, the main characters are Kong and Godzilla, so I digress.

Also, I burst into laughter a couple of times when he was acting. Although  not funny scenes,
his acting reminded me of one Japanese comedian. If that is also lip service for Japanese people, the director is too familiar with Japanese comedy. (Well, I don't think so.) I think it was a mystery for my husband and son sitting next to me that I laughed at in some serious scenes.

As for the evaluation of this movie, the score of my 13-year-old son was 4.5 out of 5 points. (Imagine what it was like from the fact that his rating for the first Hollywood Godzilla in this series he scored a 5 and the second Godzilla movie was 3.5.) I generally agree.

(By the way, my son's Shin Godzilla(Japanese latest Godzilla movie) was rated 5. His rating is a little lenient. when asked him why, he said that the story was good and that Godzilla looked cool. :D)

Regarding Godzilla generally, my son and I don't care much about the story. How cool Godzilla and Kong look, and how Godzilla first appears  are the points of evaluation for this movie, so in that respect, I can give it a very high rating. I'm glad that King Kong was also full of humanity. The bad point was that the villain was weak,
the modeling of Mechagodzilla wasn't very beautiful, and it was weak, so its battle wasn't that powerful. It was fun to see Kong and Godzilla collaborate to beat Mechagodzilla up.

Also, I like that Kong shows the feeling like " I'm stronger, I'm the best!" I think it's very American and cute. In contrast,Godzilla doesn't care about that and just goes back to the sea. I love the figure of Godzilla going back to the ocean. His back always gives me a melancholic feeling.

it seems that this movie will be released in May in Japan. I hope you enjoy it at the movie theater, and if possible, I recommend watching it in IMAX. I hope you enjoy the battle between Godzilla and Kong on the largest screen possible. Well, today I talked about my impression of a movie.
