英語の勉強　pretend like　聞き流し用【予約した車がないだと～～】

ジェリーとエレインがレンタカー屋さんに来てます。しかし、予約してた車がないと店員さんに言われます。

英語版

ジェリー： Seinfeld. I made a reservation for a mid-size, and she’s a small. I’m kidding around, of course.

店員： Okay, let’s see here.

店員：I’m sorry, we have no mid-size available at the moment.

ジェリー： I don’t understand. I made a reservation. Do you have my reservation?

店員： Yes, we do. Unfortunately we ran out of cars.

ジェリー：But the reservation keeps the car here. That’s why you have the reservation.

店員： I know why we have reservations.

ジェリー： I don’t think you do. if you did. I’d have a car. See, you know how to take the reservation, you just don’t how to hold the reservation and that’s really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody can just take them.

店員：Let me speak with my supervisor.

店員が中に入り、店長と話しているのが見える。

ジェリー： Here we go. The supervisor. You know what she’s saying over there?

エレイン： What?

ジェリー： Hey Marge, you see those two people over there? They think I’m talking to you, so you pretend like you’re talking to me, okay now you start talking.

エレイン：Oh, you mean like this? So it looks like I’m saying something but I’m not really saying anything at all.

ジェリー： Now you say something else and they won’t yell at me cause they thought I was checking with you.

エレイン： Okay that’s it. I think that’s enough, see you later.

店員が帰ってくる

店員： I’m sorry, my supervisor says there’s nothing we can do.

ジェリー： Yeah, it looked as if you were in a real conversation over there.

店員： But we do have a compact if you would like that.

ジェリー：Fine.

店員： Alright. We have a blue Ford Escort for you Mr. Seinfeld. Would you like insurance?

ジェリー：Yeah, you better give me the insurance, because I am gonna beat the hell out of this car.

日本語版(間違えてたらすみません。。。)

ジェリー： サインフェルドです。ミドルサイズを予約してます。彼女は小さいですが。冗談ですよ。。

店員： OK。確認します。

店員：申し訳ございません。ミドルサイズはございません。

ジェリー： 理解できない。俺予約したよね。予約取れてるよね？

店員： 予約は取れてますが、車がありません。

ジェリー：予約したら車があるはずだ。だから予約するんだ。

店員： 予約する理由は理解してます。

ジェリー： 理解できてないよ。理解できてたら車があるはず。予約を取る方法を知ってても予約の保ち方を知らないんだ。保つのが一番重要なんだよ。誰でも予約は取れるからさ。

店員：店長と話をしてきます。

店員が中に入り、店長と話しているのが見える。

ジェリー：出た、店長。あそこで何をしゃべってるか知ってるか？

エレイン： 何？

ジェリー： 店長、あそこに二人いますよね。あの二人は私があなたと話してると思っています。だから
あなたは私と話してるフリをしてください。話を始めてください。

エレイン：こんな感じ？何か言ってる感じだけど、何もいってないみたいな。

ジェリー： 彼らは店長に確認していると信じてますから、何か言ってくだされば彼らは私にどなったりしないです。

エレイン： Ok。これで充分です。

店員が帰ってくる。

店員： 申し訳ございません。店長に確認しましたが、我々に出来る事はございません。

ジェリー： あ、そう。あそこで本当に話してるように見えたよ。

店員： しかし、よろしければコンパクトカーはあります。

ジェリー：はい。

店員: 青の Ford Escort です。保険入りますか？

ジェリー：保険は入った方がいいだろうね。ぶち壊すから。

ジェリーが
