5/11/24 - Typhoon-like weather on Monday??

Today, I watched the weather forecast on TV, which announced it would rain hard and the wind would be strong, like a typhoon in the Kanto region on Monday. It worried me because I have a class to teach on Monday and I have to walk for about 20 minutes to take a bus home.

Fortunately, the person in charge of my class is understandable, especially after Zoom classes for almost 2 years during the pandemic, and doesn't mind me teaching online. So, I emailed her and my student, announcing that the Monday class would be conducted online.

Although the pandemic was terrible, it made us realize another option for working style. I hope many people will have the option to work from home on Monday to avoid the severe weather conditions.

P.S. きょうは暖かく晴天でしたが、天気予報 (the weather forecast) ではなんと月曜日、関東地方は「雨と風がひどく台風のような天気」になるとのことでした。月曜の仕事は対面授業で、仕事が終わって帰宅する時間はバスの本数が少ないため、バスが出ているバス停まで毎回20分ほど歩いています。

パンデミック中はオンライン授業だったこともあり、「天候の悪い時にはオンライン授業でかまわない」と言われているため、月曜日は急遽オンライン授業にすることにしました。パンデミックはひどいものでしたが、働き方は１つではないと気づけたこと (it made us realize) は良かったと思います。
