Yarn love...毛糸熱が上がりはじめた時 -シェットランドレースとTenchi カウル-
2015年の12月。
Instagramを始めたいと思い立ち、ついにガラケーからiPhoneに変えた頃。
流行っていたタグに、#yarnlove や #yarnaddict というものがあった。(yarn＝毛糸の意)
#yarnlover というタグもあって、毛糸愛や毛糸にハマってる、毛糸愛好家、みたいな感じかな～と思っている。
当時はまだまだ自分はそれを語るレベルにはないと思っていたが、思えばその頃から少しずつ、私は毛糸の魅力にはまりつつあった。
最初は、前回書いたSofTropeやマラブリゴレース。
そしてその前に購入して編み始めていた、嶋田俊之先生の本"シェットランド・レース"から、すずらんのショールの指定糸である、Isager Alpaca 2。
その後、年末から翌年の1月にかけて編んでいたamirisu掲載のTenchiというOlga Buraya-Kefelianさんのカウル。
Tenchiには、マラブリゴ Riosとマラブリゴ Worstedを使って編んでいた。
海外の毛糸を使うほどに、手触りや色合いの虜になっていったなあと思う。
そして、シェットランドレースやブリオッシュという多種多様な編み方の虜にも。
ブリオッシュ編みは、その後間が空いてしまっていて、これから再び勉強したいと思っているのだが、いつでも好きな編み方を好きな糸ではじめられる、それも編みものの醍醐味かもしれません。
その後、翌年の2016年。
Brooklyn Tweed Quarryという太糸や、今はなきスペインのLilouの糸を手にすることとなり、私の毛糸愛は加速することになる。

Around the time I decided I wanted to start Instagram and finally switched to an iPhone.
One of the tags that was trending was #yarnlove.
I thought at the time that I was not yet at the level to talk about it. Looking back, I think I started to fall in love with yarns little by little.
First, SofTrope and Malabrigo Lace, which I wrote about in the last issue.
Then, Isager Alpaca 2 from Toshiyuki Shimada's book "Shetland Lace", which I had purchased and started knitting before that, and which is the yarn used for "a lily of a valley" shawl.
Then, I knitted the cowl by Olga Buraya-Kefelian called Tenchi, from the end of the year to January of the following year.
I was knitting with Malabrigo Rios and Malabrigo Worsted.
The more I used yarns from overseas, the more I was captivated by their textures and colors.
I was also captivated by Shetland lace and brioche, which is a diverse range of knitting techniques.
I have not knitted brioche since then, and I would like to learn it again in the future, but I can start knitting anytime I want with any yarn I want.
I think that's one of the best parts of knitting.
Then the following year, 2016.
My love for yarns would accelerate as I would get my hands on that Lilou yarns from Spain.
