中近東の寓話に、「ラクダが『寒いからテントの下に鼻だけ入れさせてください』と言ったので許したところ、肩から足から次々と入れてしまい、結局ラクダにテントを占領されてしまった」というものがあり、それが「悪い前例を作ってしまうとそれが既成事実となって取り返しがつかなくなる」という教訓を示していて、the camel's nose under the tent(テントの下のラクダの鼻)は「悪い前例」を意味しています。（yahoo知恵袋)

日本のことわざで言うところの「軒先を貸して母屋をとられる」って感じ。(正しくは「庇を貸して母屋を取られる」) 決してpositiveな意味ではない。
