日本サウナ・スパ協会は、「さ（3）うな（7）」の語呂合わせから3月7日を記念日に定めました。
サウナ：サウナは発汗によって交感神経と副交感神経を刺激し、精神の安定につながると考えられています。近年では、サウナを楽しむ「サ活」が流行しており、心身の内側と外側から調和するサウナとしての人気と注目が高まっています。一方で、自らの基準や過剰なマナーを他人に押し付ける、厳しすぎる「サ活」活動も見られます基本的なマナーを守り、無理せず自分に合った「サ活」を楽しむことが呼びかけられています。また、日本サウナ・スパ協会加盟店の一部では、サウナを楽しむ一環として、3月7日に以下のようなイベントを実施します。

関西地域では、メンチカツを「ミンチカツ」と呼ぶことが一般的です。この日は、その名前にちなんで記念日が設けられています。
