Member Interview Vol.2-1 "I felt the strong power of fate..."

Today, I'm introducing two of my colleagues who started supporting the USCT*  project before Lily MedTech was launched.
*Ultrasound computed tomography.

You can find the member interview vol.1 here

Let me introduce Eugene (Yu) Takamura, software team manager

-What is your role at Lily MedTech?
Developing a program to control the machine manipulation system!

-Could you share your background with me?
Prior to joining Lily MedTech, I was involved in software development at one of the largest Japanese precision equipment manufacturers and also at a trading firm.
Before Lily MedTech was incorporated as a company, one of my wife’s university friends, Shiho, the current CEO of Lily MedTech, invited me to a project to help develop a program to control the prototype of a tool for a developing product. From then, I started supporting  the development after working hours.
After Lily MedTech became a company and got excellent result at clinical trials with the prototype, I talked with Shiho again. Since I was already interested in working for a start-up, I decided to join the company on May 2017!

-What are your motivation and challenges?
I lost my sister to breast cancer, and I felt a strong power of fate when Shiho asked me to join Lily MedTech, a company with a mission to save women from breast cancer,
on the same day as when my sister passed four years ago.
Unlike old companies which are tied to legacy systems, it is very exciting for me that I can develop the system (software) from the beginning without any constraints. That’s why I decided to join the company. I want Lily MedTech to be a company who can continue to adopt new ideas and technologies without getting trapped in the past.

-How do you find Lily MedTech?
It’s fun to see the system (device) move through my program
. Right now, we're at the busiest moment but it's also the most delightful moment!
Everyone has the strong will to create something better, and the challenge is to determine the specification.

-Finally, could you tell me about your personal life?
I am working with my wife!

Thank you very much!
I could well understand that developing a software from scratch is a rather rare opportunity. I also felt his passion!
The interview with another Takamura, who opened Eugene's path to Lily MedTech, will follow.
