This war, far away, has paralyzed my thoughts.

Soviet troops advance to Ukraine. Rockets fly around, exploding roars shake the earth, and towns and villages are destroyed one after another. The images of the war that are reported every day paralyze our thoughts. What the hell is this? What's happening? Isn't that the country that gave birth to Tolstoi, Dostoevskii, and Chekhov? Isn't that the country that gave birth to Chaikovskii, Shostakovitch? Isn't that country that gave birth to Aivazovsky, Repin? Isn't that country that knows human sadness, anger, despair, and hope more than anyone else?

Parliaments in that country have passed a bill banning anti-war coverage with the support of all members. No member of the Diet was against it. No one opposed the bill banning anti-war coverage. What exactly does this mean? Did freedom and democracy finally grow up in this country? Cbetnaha Arekcnbny, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, wrote the essence of the country in a lengthy book, The Age of Second Hands. This war, far away, has paralyzed my thoughts, but I would like to read this book again and rebalance my mind.
