Tenjin / Daimyo area

In the city of Fukuoka, the Tenjin area which is the largest city in Kyushu, and the Daimyo area which is lined with famous brand shops such as SUPREME/CARHARTT and used clothing stores, there are countless sneaker shops, from directly managed stores to resale shops.  What are there kind of sneakers can be found in the ever-evolving Tenjin area, and in the Daimyo area, which is filled with good old culture (Daimyo is Fukuoka City's first elementary school district!)? We will pick up and deliver some shops.

NIKE FUKUOKA

This is a directly managed Nike store that opened in 2009. If you go toward Daimyo and Akasaka on Nishidori, you will see an orange flag on your right. The 1st floor is women's, the 2nd floor is men's, and the 3rd floor is kids' and NIKE BY YOU (a service where you can make your own original shoes), and it is always crowded with many people. Even products that are sold out on SNKRS (Nike's official sneaker app), such as Air Jordans, may still be available for a few days at Nike stores. The apparel is also substantial, and the store is very open and has an atmosphere that anyone can easily enter.

NEW BALANCE FUKUOKA

It is Kyushu's first flagship store opened in 2019. It's a building opposite MUJI on Nishi-dori, and Levi's is on the first floor. Close to Nike Fukuoka. Shoes are also available on the 1st floor, but the selection on the 2nd floor is especially impressive. In the foreground, there are standard models such as 574 and 996, popular models such as 2002, running shoes and apparel.
And in the back of the store is the "made" corner. There are models such as 990 and 1500 that are coveted by fans of made in US and made in UK. Don't make the mistake of drooling on your sneakers.

This shop also has a shoe fitter, so you can have your feet measured with a measuring instrument. Also, the biggest feature of New Balance directly managed stores is the high level of customer service when trying on clothes.
Remove the insole from the shoe, measure the size of the shoe according to the size of the foot (if the toe is bent and the height of the toe is just right), pursue the best size. It's like New Balance, and it's a customer service that sticks to comfort. I think that it is easy for people who come for the first time to enter. ABC-MART GRAND STAGE FUKUOKA NISHIDORI

This is the GRAND STAGE of ABC Mart, a famous mass retailer. It seems that ABC Mart also has a rank, and this GRAND STAGE seems to be deployed as a large store. Our impression is that there are more "good" sneakers than ordinary ABC Mart. There is also a lottery for popular models, and the product lineup is overwhelming, with NIKE, JORDAN, ADIDAS, VANS, NEW BALANCE, CONVERSE, etc. I think you can master the basics of sneakers if you go here. We also have a wide range of apparel and shoe care products.

My impression is that ABC Mart GRAND STAGE has more stocks of sold-out models compared to other stores. For that reason, I try to stop by from time to time, and sometimes I come across a restock and go "Wow!". Also, in a good way, there is little customer service, but when you need it, it is a recommended shop for sneaker beginners.

There is also an app lottery for popular sneakers, and the options for purchasing sneakers for Fukuoka residents have increased significantly.

UPTOWN Deluxe FUKUOKA

It is a sneaker shop representing Fukuoka along Kokutai Road. A wide range of products such as NIKE and ADIDAS are available. When you enter, the right hand side is the men's section, and the left side is the women's and children's section.
Because we have a variety of models in stock, there are frequent lotteries, and when there are many, long lines form along the Kokutai Road. I am often asked to line up. Isn't it the most energetic shop in Fukuoka? By the way, I feel like I often come across restocks at this store.

The threshold may be high for first-timers, but the customer service is kind and polite. There is a skateboard line shop called 202, an affiliated store nearby, and there is also a store in Kumamoto.

Based on the concept of "continuing to transmit only sophisticated essence from Tokyo to the world", it is a very sensitive sneaker shop that continues to transmit sneaker culture as the supreme place to output high-quality input. Stores in Harajuku and Shibuya opened in Fukuoka in 2015. The location is right next to Uptown.
The store displays are stylish and modern, with NIKE and NEW BALANCE on the 1st floor and VANS on the 2nd floor. On the other hand, it is too fashionable to enter the store, but you can try it on carefully. Lotteries are held relatively frequently here, and I often stand in line to buy them (for some reason, the lottery matches well!). The location of uptown and side by side is interesting.

It's a resale shop like KICKS LAB in Harajuku, Tokyo, where buying is of course a feast for the eyes. This SeekeR is by far the best in resale in Fukuoka. The store is relatively small, but the number of products is abundant and the storage conditions are good. We handle both new and used items, with NIKE and JORDAN as the core. The customer service is also polite, and it is a fun shop to talk with the clerk. The prices are relatively affordable for a store, and there are many models that I have only seen online. In addition, there are items that you can negotiate the price of, so if you come to Fukuoka for a trip, we recommend it as a memory. It is also introduced on YouTube by the comedian Anthony, and I think it will be helpful. Since it is a resale shop, it may be difficult for beginners, but I think it will be fun if you come with a sneaker lover.

If you walk in the direction of Akasaka from Daimyo, you will see a large signboard called Union 3 under the apartment. This is a store with a relatively large floor area that carries many brands and items, including street brands, sneakers, VINTAGE-T, domestic brands, and imported brands. They carry a large amount of sneakers, and the prices are reasonable. In addition to sneaker lovers, many fashion lovers are visiting, indicating its popularity. SKIT Fukuoka Daimyo

SKIT is a resale shop that is famous nationwide. Just off the street with many Korean restaurants, if you look up at the sky, you can see the shop where the wall is covered with old sneakers. Oh, let's walk carefully ahead.
The entrance is on the 2nd floor, and when you go inside, you will find sneakers lined up. It mainly deals in NIKE, and it is characterized by small size sneakers and old sneakers that can not be worn. Of course, there are also new products.
I think this is easy to understand what SOSHI is introducing on Youtube. (I've been watching SOSHI's videos a lot. I've even met him and had his photos taken!)

2nd STREET Fukuoka Tenjin

They have a wide selection of sneakers, and I think they are the No. 1 store in Fukuoka on Second Street. We mainly sell used items, but some items are as good as new. I can also see things that were released a little while ago, so I sometimes visit for study. Some beginners may think it's too early to buy used sneakers, but there are plenty of second-hand clothes, so I think it's worth a look!

Hakata area

In addition to traditional culture such as the Hakata Yamakasa Festival and Nagarekanjo, the Hakata district has developed as a hub for transportation in Kyushu and is crammed with shopping and office buildings. Speaking of Fukuoka, many people probably think of Hakata. We will introduce two such sneaker shops in Hakata.

Atoms, a nationwide chain, is located in AMU PLAZA HAKATA, a complex facility that is directly connected to Hakata Station, the gateway to Kyushu. When you go up to the 5th floor with the escalator, you can see the inside of the store with the display on the wall.
It is also a place of memories where I bought Air Jordan for the first time by lottery. At atoms, many limited edition colors and models have been developed, such as the AIR MAX1 atoms elephant. In particular, the jade color is said to be an atom color, and atoms are always at the forefront of the sneaker industry. A gray-based directly managed store with a lifestyle concept. Unlike general shops, the point is that it specializes in lifestyle rather than sports. The store has a friendly atmosphere, and for me it's very easy to shop. Of course, there are shoe fitters, so you can buy what suits you. It's a little far from Tenjin and Hakata, but it's a shop I'd definitely recommend (I waaaant live here!)
