わたしの家にはお雛様がなかったので、ひな祭りの思い出はあまり記憶にない。
なぜなかったのか、最近は住宅事情もあって小さい人形を飾ることも一般的になったけれど、昔は7段くらいある雛人形しかなかったのだろうか、子供ながらになんとなく経済的な理由だと悟って両親に尋ねたことはなく話題にすることもなかった。

両親には感謝しているし、たとえばピアノを習いたいと言って買ってもらったけれど習い事が続かなくて申し訳なかったという話もある。
けれど、時々どんな雛人形かという話をする友達もいて、そういった話にはどう対応して良いのか困った。

それから、「終わったら早く仕舞わないとお嫁に行き遅れる」みたいな言い伝えや「母方の家が用意する」などのしきたりもよく知らず、自分が大人になってからこの時期に子どものいる友人たちのSNS投稿で改めて知った。

なんてことを思い出して話しているうちに、哀しい気持ちになってきてしまった。

そもそも

雛人形を飾る理由：
雛祭りの原点ともいわれる厄払いの「流し雛」の風習と、貴族の子女たちが行っていた「雛遊び（ひいなあそび）」とが合わさり、やがて雛人形は女の子の厄除けの守り雛として飾られるようになったよう。




I don't remember much about the Doll Festival because I didn't have any Hina dolls in my house.
Recently, it has become common to decorate small dolls due to housing conditions, but in the past, there were only seven-tiered Hina dolls, and I never asked my parents or talked about them when I realized that it was a financial reason.

I'm grateful to my parents, and for example, they said I wanted to learn the piano and bought it for me, but I am sorry that the lessons didn't last.
However, some of my friends sometimes talked about what kind of Hina dolls they were, and I was at a loss how to deal with them.

Then, I didn't know the traditions like, "If you don't finish it early, you'll be late to get married," or "My mother's house will prepare it," so I learned about it again through SNS posts by friends with children at this time of year.

As I remembered and talked, I began to feel sad.

The custom of "Nagashi Hina," which is said to be the origin of the Doll's Festival, combined with "Hina-play" performed by aristocratic children, and it seems that Hina dolls were displayed as protective dolls to ward off evil for girls.
