【英語表現】cherry-pickってどういう意味？
こんにちは。ミナミです。
Search inside yourselfという本を読みはじめたところ、面白い表現に出会いました。
“Meng and this team also cherry-picked the best from well-tested methods for creating a life with self-awareness and well-being, kindness, and happiness.”
cherry-pickedという表現は初めてみました。
chambridge dictionaryによると
“to pick only the best people or things from a group, so that only people or things that are less good remain:
The new schools were accused of cherry-picking the best students in the area.”
つまり、「複数あるものからいいものを引き抜くと」いう意味です！
いい本は面白い表現の宝庫ですね😏
