航空機の非常事態に備えるATC：ドンッときて息苦しい！

与圧された機体でキャビンから空気が漏れると、搭乗者は直ちに酸欠状態に晒されるため、生命の危険が生じます。普通、異常事態に遭遇したらAviation, Navigation, Communicationが基本的な対処順序ですが、減圧事故ではoxygenation(酸素化)が何よりも先に必要です。上空では頭半分ですから、減圧!?マスク装着！を普段から肝に銘じておかねばなりません。

飛行中に聞き慣れない異音を耳にしたら、無視してはいけません。機体に何か起こっていないか可能性を疑うべきです。まずは計器に異常な表示がないかを確かめ、操縦席から見える範囲で機外を目視します。乗員にも機体や客室内に異常が認められないか、注意喚起すべきです。

If you hear an unfamiliar sound during the flight, do not ignore it. You should suspect that something may have happened to the aircraft. First, check the instruments for abnormal indications and visually inspect the outside as far as you can see from the cockpit. Cabin crews should also be alerted to any abnormalities in the aircraft or cabin.
”All crews, we heard an explosive sound. Please check inside the cabin and outside the plane."

機内が減圧すると、旅客機では客室内に酸素マスクが自動的に降下します。けれども操縦室内では、酸素マスクは操縦士自らが装着します。機体の爆発などで急減圧が起こると、直ちに酸素マスクを付けなければ、数十秒で意識を失います。まず自分がマスクを装着し、次に相棒の装着を手伝います。減圧時のマニュアルを調べるのは二の次です。

When the cabin is depressurized, the oxygen mask automatically descends into the cabin on the airliner. In the cockpit, however, the oxygen mask is worn by the pilots themselves. If a sudden depressurization occurs due to an explosion of the aircraft, if you do not immediately put on an oxygen mask, you will lose consciousness in a few tens of seconds. First you put on the mask, and then you help your buddy put it on. Checking the manual for decompression is secondary.
”All the crews, put on the oxygen mask first and help passengers wear the mask immediately. We're in the decompression."

機内減圧が確認されたら、酸素供給システムが枯渇する前に10,000ft位まで急降下するのが一般的です。天候や地形に懸念があれば、QNH変換レベル当たりで降下を中断すべきかも知れません。ATCへは直ちに緊急事態を通報し、急降下の許可を仰ぎます。緊急着陸先が決まっていると、安全で効率的なレーダーベクターが受けられるでしょう。

Once the cabin depressurization has been confirmed, it is common to plummet to around 10,000 ft before the oxygen supply system is depleted. If you are concerned about the weather or terrain, you may want to interrupt the descent up to the QNH conversion level. Call the ATC immediately to notify them of the emergency and ask for permission to dive in. Once you have an idea for the emergency landing destination, you will receive a safe and efficient radar vector.
”Airwalk 830, Mayday, Mayday, Mayday. We’ve got cabin decompression. Request an emergency descent and redar vector to the nearest airport. We've seven passengers on board and remaining fuel 700Lb."
