星野道夫さんの本に出会ったのは10代の頃だった。それ以来、この言葉とそれが紡ぐイメージが頭から離れない。私の人生の視座や視野や視点を決定づけた圧倒的な言葉で、世界がひっくり返るようなインパクトがあった。
この言葉の背景には、ゆったりとした時間の流れ、想像力、そして世界への優しい眼差しがある。そのすべては、今の自分自身に欠けがちなもので、いつも自分が元いた場所と現在地を教えてくれる。
この言葉の引用をLobsterr著「いくつもの月曜日」の中に見つけた時、古い友人と再会したような気分になった。彼らの心地よく響く語り口、軽やかな知性の形、そして世界の見方は、星野道夫というわたしの心の原風景に通じていたのだ。
人の心を射抜く言葉や本は時空を超える。それらがどれだけわたしを励ましたか知らない。そしてそれは世界との出会い直すことに似ている。だからわたしはいつも側に本を置いている。

Ever since I read Michio Hoshino's book when I was a teenager, I've got these words and their images stuck in my mind. That totally blew me away and had a massive impact on me at that time. A background of this sentence has a slow flow of time, imagination, and a gentle look at the world. And all of that is something that I tend to lack in myself today.
When I found this sentence in Lobsterr's book "Many Mondays" I felt like I bumped into an old friend. Lobsterr’s pleasantly reverberating narrative, free form of intelligence, and gaze toward the world led to the original scenery of my heart, Michio Hoshino.
Words and books that penetrate people's hearts transcend time and space. I don't know how much it encouraged me. It is like a re-acquaintance with the world. That may be why I always have a book by my side.
