3 ways to treat baseball shoulder

If you are suffering from baseball shoulder pain, try loosening the following points. It will not only relieve pain but also prevent it.

  1. Under the sternoclavicular joint

One of the characteristics of throwing with baseball shoulder is that you throw with the shoulder joint. The shoulder joint is also used in pitching, but the correct way to throw is to throw from the sternum, which is in the center of the body, to avoid putting strain on the shoulder joint.

Near the sternum is a joint called the sternoclavicular joint, which is made up of the sternum and clavicle. If the clavicle movement becomes poor, you will not be able to throw from the center of the body and will throw only with the shoulder joint, which is a so-called hand throwing state.

To improve the movement of the clavicle, stimulate the acupoint called Yufu, which is located under the sternoclavicular joint. Stimulating this acupoint will improve the movement of the sternoclavicular joint and allow you to throw from the center of your body when pitching.


2.Subscapular angle
The point below the scapula is the subscapular angle.
There are many inner muscles at this point that stabilize the scapula.
If the inner muscles are not functioning properly when pitching, the scapula will not slide smoothly, and just like the sternoclavicular joint, the shoulder joint will be burdened.

Have the opponent lie on their side and abduct their shoulder joint (with their arms raised up), and apply pressure with your thumb to the outside of the subscapular angle to passively adduce and abduct the shoulder joint.
This approach will help you to get an effective pitch. The inner muscles will loosen and you will be able to pitch using the movement of your shoulder blades.



3. Next to the armpit

There is a muscle called the serratus anterior at the inferior angle of the scapula. Rub this area up and down (head and foot) with your fist.

If the serratus anterior is not functioning properly, the movement of the ribs will be poor, and just like the clavicle and scapula are not functioning properly, if the movement of the ribs is poor, you will only use the shoulder joint to throw, which will cause baseball shoulder.
