#143 上司も楽じゃない (Boss is not an easy job)

シンガポールは本日より、室内でのマスクが必須じゃなくなりました！つまり公共の交通機関とか一部を除いたら、マスクの必須条件はなくなりました。いやー、慣れない。結局マスクを無意識に手に取ってしまう（笑）し、手元にないと探しちゃう。。。２年間でガッチリ教育されてしまいました。久しぶりにいろいろな人と全顔（？）をみながら話してます。

シンガポールオフィスではたまに、全員と１対１で話すのですが、次のやつからは素顔で話せますね。結構雰囲気変わりそう。そういえば初めて誰かの上司になったのが2011年。11年前。ということは、その時僕は35才。結構若い頃と思っていたけれどそうでもないな。
今でもはっきりと思い出せるチームメンバーと、その時の緊張。すみません嘘つきました。緊張はそんなにしてませんでした。でもその頃も話すための準備を結構頑張ってやっていたような（たぶん）。意外とこれって大変ですよね？

Resily株式会社の「1on1についての調査(2022)」によると、管理職の66%が1 on 1 の実施で悩みがあると答えています。いや、約3分の1の全く困っていない鉄人上司がいますが、大体の人が悩んでる。困っている内容の方は選択肢がややざっくりなので分かりやすくないかもですが、結構日本人らしいかなと思いました。真面目感もあるし、コミュ障感もあるし。「どうやって話せばいいか分からない」上司かわいい（29%）。どうもコミュニケーションスキルに自信がないという答えが結構あった様子です。

いやー、個別の悩みを見てみると、「どうやってモチベーションを上げたらよいか分からない」とか「せっかくの1 on 1をしても、仕事で実践できない」とか。世の中の調査をみると従業員のストレスの理由トップに上がりがちな上司ですが、上司は上司で結構大変。いや、ちょっと上司びいき過ぎているかもしれないけど。

Today would be a memorial day for people living in Singapore. Wearing a mask indoor is no longer compulsory from today except for some case like public transportation. Its been quite a while having a meeting with members without a mask… Honestly I'm not used to it yet. In the end, I unintentionally look for my mask if its not on my face Lol. I'm too well educated in 2 years. But I'm so happy to talk with people with seeing their full face!

I have annul 1 on 1 session with all member in our office. Unfortunately I just finished one but from next time I'll be able to have it without a mask which could bring some difference. By the way, the first time I became a "boss" is in 2011. 11 years ago when I was 35 year old. Umm, I though I was really young but not that much Hahahaha.
I can still remember the faces of members and how nerves I was…. Sorry, actually I was not. But I made a lot of preparation to talk to them (Perhaps). Don't you think this is a huge effort, bosses??

According to Resily (2022), 66% of managers in Japan has concern in 1 on 1. Surprisingly there are on third of iron men who said that there are no issues. But mostly Japanese managers are a bit nerves on doing it. Reasons mentioned in the report are a bit value but I can somehow feel that they are quite "Japanese" Lol. They are very serious and concerning about their social skill!! I personally feel it adorable(?) to see bosses who are worried how to approach to their members…

Having a look at the comments on the report, their are free answers like "I'm wondering how I can motivate my members" or "I can not make this 1 on 1 opportunity useful to members work" and so on. It is often said that "Bosses" are one of the top cause of stress for employees. However bosses seem to struggle with making the communication better… Not sure how you feel but boss is not an easy job I think. I might be into bosses too much though…
