　コロナの時代、各地の花火大会が中止となっている。数年前に生活していたサンパウロでは、元日の午前零時に新年を祝って一斉に花火が上がる。それにお寺の初鐘が重なる。花火が消えるその瞬間、私は浮き草のような川面に漂う自」分を感じた。私はどこから来てどこへ行くのか。花火の醍醐味は炸裂した後の闇の深さではないか。人はそこに人生の虚ろいと危うさを見てしまうのかもしれない。
　芥川龍之介に明治の鹿鳴館時代を舞台にした「舞踏会」がある。文明開化を体現したような少女明子とフランスの海軍将校との短い物語である。踊りのあと何を考えているのかとねる明子に「我々の生のやうな花火」と彼はつぶやく。華やかな舞踏会にひそむ様々な駆引き、狡知（こうち）、見栄（みえ）、不安。それら人間の生を照らし出すかのような花火。まさに人間の闇が浮かび上がる。コロナの時代の私たち、虚ろいと危うさの生を無明の闇と自覚できるだろうか。。

O livro de Ryunosuke Akutagawa é"Butoukai"　（salão de dança）　ambientado na era Rokumeikan da era Meiji. É um conto entre Akiko, uma garota que encarna a era do Meiji, e um oficial da marinha francesa. Ele murmura, "Nossos fogos de artifício da Vida", para Akiko, que se pergunta o que ela está pensando depois da dança. Várias táticas, ardiloso, vaidade e ansiedade escondidas na linda do salão de dança . Fogos de artifício que parecem iluminar essas vidas humanas. A escuridão do ser humano emerge.
