西宮オリジナルサクラ3種の共演 !! Co-starring 3 kinds of Nishinomiya original Sakura !!

ここ阪神間は、すでに気温16℃まで上昇、ポカポカ陽気。今週から20℃前後の日が続くという。
今年の春の私的話題10選の一つが「西宮オリジナルサクラ」。西宮・夙川は「日本さくらの名所100選」の一つら選ばれている所なので、毎年夙川沿いの桜を楽しんでいる。その桜のほとんどが「ソメイヨシノ」。桜の品種の中でも花の美しさは最上級だろう。

Here in Hanshinkan, the temperature has already risen to 16 degrees Celsius, and it is warm and cheerful. It is said that the days around 20 ℃ will continue from this week.
One of the 10 private topics this spring is "Nishinomiya Original Sakura". Nishinomiya and Shukugawa are one of the "100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan", so I enjoy the cherry blossoms along the Shukugawa every year. Most of the cherry blossoms are "Somei Yoshino". The beauty of flowers is probably the highest among the varieties of cherry blossoms.

西宮には「西宮市植物生産研究センター」という機関が桜をはじめとする植物に関する品種改良や花木生産などをサポートしている専門研究機関がある。
そのセンターが西宮市の花が「さくら(桜)」ということもあり、とくに桜の研究には熱心である。

In Nishinomiya, there is a specialized research institute called "Nishinomiya City Plant Production Research Center" that supports breeding and flowering tree production related to plants such as cherry blossoms.
The center is called "Sakura", which is the flower of Nishinomiya City, and I am particularly enthusiastic about researching cherry blossoms.

先日紹介した「今津紅寒桜(いまづべにかんざくら)」と「西宮権現平桜(にしのみやごんげんだいらざくら」」、「夙川舞桜(しゅくがわまいざくら)」の3種は西宮市オリジナル「さくら」として限られた場所で育成されている。
今津紅寒桜は、名前通りに今津町の大東公園の一角で、早咲きのサクラとして2週間前に満開を迎え、いまは散ってしまっている。それに比べ、西宮権現平桜と夙川舞桜は、ソメイヨシノより少し遅れ満開を迎えた。いくつかの場所で育成されているが、市役所の南側の六湛寺南公園では並木に植えられている。ヤマザクラ系で、花は今がちょうど見ごろで白色の一重、成長が早く潮風にも強い品種といわれている。

"Imazu Benikan Sakura", "Nishinomiya Gongendaira Sakura", and "Shukugawa Mai Sakura" introduced the other day. The three species are cultivated in a limited place as Nishinomiya City's original "Sakura".
As the name suggests, Imazu Benikan Sakura is a corner of Daito Park in Imazu Town, and it was in full bloom two weeks ago as an early-blooming cherry tree, and it is now scattered. In comparison, Nishinomiya Gongendaira Sakura and Shukugawa Mai Sakura reached full bloom a little later than Somei Yoshino. It is cultivated in several places, but it is planted in a row of trees at Rokutanji Minami Park on the south side of the city hall. It is a wild cherry tree, and the flowers are in full bloom now, and it is said to be a white single-layered variety that grows quickly and is resistant to sea breeze.

そして、夙川舞桜は平成11年に市内雲井町で確認されたもので、夙川周辺のサクラから自然交配によってできた西宮生まれ。センターは平成14年より増殖に取り組み、平成17年に市民の投票で「夙川舞桜」と名付けられた。
花は八重咲きで、はじめは淡紅色でだんだんと白色に変化する。成長は権現平桜と同じように成長は早く、苗木を植えてから開花まで2～3年と期間が短い。

And Shukugawa Maisakura was confirmed in Kumoi-cho in the city in 1999, and was born in Nishinomiya, which was formed by natural mating from the cherry blossoms around Shukugawa. The center has been working on proliferation since 2002 and was named " Shukugawa Maisakura" by a citizen's vote in 2005.
The flowers are double-flowered, initially pink and gradually turn white. The growth is as fast as Gongen Dairasakura, and the period from planting the seedlings to flowering is short, 2 to 3 years.

この3種が「西宮オリジナルサクラ」として育成され、ソメイヨシノなどに匹敵する美しさを備え、多くの人を楽しませてくれる日々もそう遠くはないだろう。
一足早く、この3種の桜を並べてみた。お楽しみください。
