歴史と自然が調和された優美さ、名勝「好古園」　 The scenic spot "Kokoen", where history and nature are in harmony

姫路城は、ご承知の通り世界遺産・国宝として国内外に知られ、訪れる観光客の多さでその知名度の高さが伺える。その姫路城に隣接している名勝「好古園」は訪れる人たちの目を楽しませてくれる。

As you know, Himeji Castle is known both at home and abroad as a World Heritage Site and a national treasure, and its high profile can be seen from the large number of tourists visiting it. The scenic spot "Kokoen" adjacent to Himeji Castle will delight the eyes of visitors.

庭園は、９つの大小庭園と樹林帯や広場で構成され、築地塀・屋敷門・長屋門や渡り廊下で結んだ「活水軒」「潮音斎」をはじめ、本格的な数寄屋建築の茶室「双樹庵」などがある。

The garden consists of nine large and small gardens, a forest belt and a plaza, and includes the "Kasuiken" and "Choonsai" that are connected by the Tsukiji wall, the mansion gate, the nagayamon and the passageway, and the tea room "Sojyuan", which is a full-scale Sukiya architecture. 

水の流れで結ばれた国内屈指の池泉回遊式庭園で、とくに晩秋は見どころ満載。渡り廊下から眺める紅葉は、燦然とした絵巻物のような風景である。
そして最大の特徴は世界遺産・国宝姫路城を借景として楽しめる。
歴史と自然がみごとに調和され、優美な景観をつくり上げている。

It is one of the best pond spring strolling gardens in Japan connected by the flow of water, and is full of highlights especially in late autumn. The autumn leaves seen from the passageway are a brilliant picture scroll-like landscape.
And the biggest feature is that you can enjoy the world heritage site, Himeji Castle, as a borrowed landscape.
History and nature are in perfect harmony, creating a graceful landscape.
