水面に浮かぶ「睡蓮」の美しさ　　　The beauty of "water lilies" floating on the surface of the water

先月、佛日寺を訪問した折に、石仏と向かい合って咲くボタンの美しさに感動。
そして、昨日は庭に置いてある水甕(みずがめ)の中で小さな「睡蓮」が咲いていた。葉とともに水面に浮かんでいた。
日差しが弱くなると花を閉じる姿が、あたかも眠っているように見ることから睡眠の「睡」の字をつけ睡蓮と名付けられたようだ。花が咲き終わると閉じて水の中に沈む。
 
When I visited Butsunichi-ji Temple last month, I appreciate the beauty of the Peony flower that bloom facing the stone Buddha.
And yesterday, a small "water lily" was in bloom in the water bottle in the garden. It floated on the surface of the water with the leaves.
The appearance of closing the flowers when the sunlight weakens seems to have been named water lily with the character "sleep" in sleep because it looks as if it is sleeping. When the flowers finish blooming, they close and sink in the water.

 
水面に大きな葉が重なりあっている中にポツリと白と赤紫の花が浮いているように見えた。その色といい形状といい、大きな葉とのコンポジションが美しい。
一つの花だけでこれだけの美しさを魅せる。愛くるしさはもちろんだが、力強さを感じた。
 
It seemed that white and red-purple flowers were floating in the middle of the large leaves overlapping on the surface of the water. Its color and shape are good, and its composition with large leaves is beautiful.
Only one flower will fascinate you with this beauty. Not to mention the loveliness, I felt the strength.
