梅の名所、神戸「綱敷天満宮」のパワーにふれる Touch the power of Kobe's "Tsunashiki Tenmangu", a famous place for plum blossoms

先日、神戸市須磨区にある「綱敷天満宮(つなしきてんまんぐう)」を訪ねた。綱敷天満宮というのは全国数カ所にある。ご承知のとおり、天満宮は学問の神様、菅原道真公が祀られている。この網敷天満宮も同様に、979年に道真公の分霊を祀ったことに始まったといわれている。

The other day, I visited "Tsunashiki Tenmangu" in Suma Ward, Kobe City. There are several Tsunashiki Tenmangu shrines nationwide.
As you know, Tenmangu is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning. It is said that Tsunashiki Tenmangu Shrine also started in 979 when the spirit of Michizane was enshrined. 

当時、九州の太宰府に左遷途上で休息のため立ち寄り、土地の漁師たちが漁網の大綱を巻いて円座を用意した。これに因んで、神戸市須磨区の地に「綱敷天満宮」が創建された、という言い伝えがある。

At that time, he stopped by Dazaifu in Kyushu for a rest on the way to the left, and local fishermen wrapped the fishing nets and prepared a circle. It is said that "Tsunashiki Tenmangu" was built in Suma Ward, Kobe City.

天満宮といえば「梅」。神戸の綱敷天満宮も梅の名所として地域の人たちに人気を博している。境内周辺には25種約120本の紅白が咲いている。中でも、「白滝枝垂れ」「森の関(紅)」「呉服枝垂れ」「紅千鳥」「ロウバイ(黄)」などがこれ見よがしに咲き始めている。

Tenmangu is called "ume". Tsunashiki Tenmangu in Kobe is also popular with the local people as a famous place for plum blossoms. About 120 red and white trees of 25 species are in bloom around the precincts. Among them, "Shirataki Weeping", "Mori no Seki (Red)", "Gofuku Weeping", "Beni Chidori", and "Japanese allspice (Yellow)" are beginning to bloom. 

本殿の周りはいろんな種類の梅で覆われている。通常の楠や松の鎮守の森とはいささか異なる雰囲気が漂う。
その中で一番に花を咲かせていた寒梅は、つぼみが弾けたばかりで初々しい。色も形も無垢の美しさを漂わす。

The area around the main shrine is covered with various types of plum blossoms. There is a slightly different atmosphere from the usual Kusunoki and pine guardian forests. Kanbai, which was the first to bloom, has just popped its buds and is fresh. The color and shape have a pure beauty.

梅の他に、牛・茄子の祈願像に、幼少時代の道真公をモチーフに造られた、サーフボードを持つ祈願像や、玉を転がし壷に落とす「思うつぼ」など、ちょっと風変わりな祈願の対象物がある。パワースポットとして人気を博す天満宮である。
