国内最大の「涅槃図」を掲げ法要。　【御寺泉涌寺】　[文化想造塾<社寺>] The memorial service with the largest "reclining Buddha" in Japan. [Sennyu-ji Temple]

釈迦像を本尊とする寺院では涅槃図を掲げ、
お釈迦様の遺徳を偲ぶ法要「涅槃会(ねはんえ)」が随所で行われた。
2月14日は大阪の池田市にある佛日寺へ参拝。
その一か月後の3月15日には、国内の最大の涅槃図が掲げられる、
京都東山の皇室の菩提寺である御寺泉涌寺の法要に伺った。

At the temple whose principal image is the Buddha statue, a reclining Buddha is displayed.
The memorial service "Nehane" was held everywhere in memory of Buddha's virtues.
On February 14th, we visited Butsunichi-ji Temple in Ikeda City, Osaka. One month later, on March 15th, the largest reclining Buddha in the country will be listed.
l visited the memorial service of Sennyu-ji Temple, which is the imperial family temple in Higashiyama, Kyoto.

本尊の前に紙本極彩色の、縦16ｍ、横8ｍの大涅槃図が
天井からコの字型に吊り下げられていた。
過去に観たことのない大迫力に圧巻。
午前10時からお昼まで、大涅槃図の前で十数人の僧侶による読経が続いた。
読経のさなかに、僧侶が、蓮の花びらの形をした紙をばら撒き
それを参拝者がいただく。つまり散華という儀式にも触れながら
お釈迦様の命日の法要に同席させていただいた。

In front of the principal image, there is a 16m long and 8m wide reclining Buddha in the color of a paper book.
It was hung from the ceiling in a U shape.
It is a masterpiece that has never seen in the past.
From 10 am to noon, the sutras were read by more than a dozen monks in front of the reclining Buddha.
During the sutra chanting, the monk scatters paper in the shape of lotus petals. The worshiper receives it. In other words, while touching the ritual of Sange. l attended the memorial service on the anniversary of Shage-sama's death.

その後、東福寺に参拝したが、
残念ながら大涅槃図は修復中ということで見ることは叶わなかった。

After that, l visited Tofuku-ji Temple, Unfortunately, the reclining Buddha could not be seen because it was being restored.
