金メダルダッシュ、神がかり！ Gold medal dash, godly!

一昨夜は、卓球混合ダブルスで、水谷隼、伊藤美誠両選手が中国チームを大逆転の末破り金を獲得。五輪では日本卓球界初の金、悲願を成し遂げた。

The night before last, in the table tennis mixed doubles, Jun Mizutani and Mima Ito won the defeat of the Chinese team after a big turnaround. At the Olympics, he achieved his long-cherished wish, the first gold medal in the Japanese table tennis world.

そして昨夜は、ソフトボールで日本がアメリカを退け13年ぶりの連覇。予選では逆転負けだったのを、決勝で上野選手の渾身の力投と日本の守りで見事な勝利をおさめた。

And last night, Japan defeated the United States with a softball and won the championship for the first time in 13 years. Although japanese team lost in the qualifying round, japanese team won the final with Ueno's all-out effort and Japan's defense.

五輪で金メダルを獲るのは実力と人一倍努力があっての賜ものに違いないが、観ているともう一つあるように思う。
勝ちへのリズム、そして運。人の力が及ばない何かが働いているかのよう。つまり"神がかり"ということになる。
両方ともそう思える試合だった。

Winning a gold medal at the Olympics must be a result of ability and hard work, but I think there is one more thing to watch.
Rhythm to win, and luck. It's as if something is working that is beyond the reach of humans. In other words, it is a "godly".
Both were games that seemed like that.
