佛日寺の路地で、見返りのない祈り「タルチョー」が風にたなびく。 　In the alley of Butsunichi-ji, "Tarcho" flutters in the wind as a prayer with no reward.

大阪 池田市にある黄檗宗の寺院「佛日寺」を訪ねることが増えた。
前回の記事に記したように4月から「仏画曼荼羅アート」の教室として
月一回会館を使用させていただく。

l visited more often the Obaku sect temple "Butsunichi-ji" in Ikeda City, Osaka.
As mentioned in the previous article, as a classroom for "Buddhist painting mandala art" from April. l will use the hall once a month.

行くたびに気になる光景が目に留まる。
本堂に入る路地に、布に梵字や仏画などが印刷された
ハンカチ(旗)のようなものが紐に吊り下げられ風にたなびいている。
日本ではあまり見たことのない光景である。

Every time I go, I notice the sight that I care about.
In the alley that enters the main hall, the cloth is printed with Buddhist paintings and other characters.
Something like a handkerchief (flag) is hung on a string and flutters in the wind. It is a scene I haven't seen much in Japan.

和尚に聞くと、「ダルチョー」という、チベットなどの寺院ではよく見かける、伝統の祈祷旗でチベットのシンボル的な存在のようなもの、ということだった。
この祈祷旗は五色で、その色の順番は青・白・赤・緑・黄の順に決まっており、それぞれが天・風・火・水・地、すなわち宇宙を構成する五大が表現されている。

When asked by Osho, it is often seen in temples such as Tibet called "Dalcho". It was a traditional prayer flag, like a symbol of Tibet.
This prayer flag has five colors, and the order of the colors is blue, white, red, green, and yellow. Each represents the sky, the wind, the fire, the water, and the land, that is, the five major constituents of the universe.

この風習は、風に吹かれて仏法が拡がるようにと願いが込められている。
風になびくことで徳が積め、読経したことになる、と伝えられている。
六字大明呪(梵字呪文)や、天の四方の方角を司る
霊獣である四神（虎、麒麟、鳳凰、龍）などが描かれている場合もある。

日本でこの光景を見るのは珍しいが、ここ佛日寺にはタルチョーが
路地でひそかに見返りを求めない祈りとしてたなびいている。

This custom is a wish that the Buddhist law will spread in the wind.
It is said that by fluttering in the wind, virtue is accumulated and the sutras are read.
Controls the six-character Daimyo spell and the four directions of heaven, in some cases, the four gods (tiger, kirin, phoenix, dragon) that are spirit beasts are drawn.
It is rare to see this scene in Japan, but here at Butsunichi-ji, there is a prayer flag.
It is fluttering in the alley as a prayer that does not secretly ask for a reward.
