Luke Evansは英国の俳優、歌手。「美女と野獣 (映画版)」(2017年)で悪役のガストン、「ミッドウェー」(2019年)でウェイド・マクラスキー少将を演じています。遡って20歳代には、West Endミュージカル「Rent」でロジャー役、「Miss Saigon」でクリス役に抜擢されています。

ガストン役などストレートな強面イメージですが、俳優としてのキャリアを始めた23歳の頃からゲイ自認しています。しかし、高校生の頃にはそうした心の葛藤から故郷を飛び出して単身ロンドンに上京するなど、苦悩の多い青春期であったことをインタビューで語っています。

2019年に発表した1stアルバム「At Last」の1曲目におかれているのが、この "Love Is a Battlefield"。

Luke Evans is an English actor and singer. He played the villain Gaston in "Beauty and the Beast" (film version) (2017) and Major General Wade McCluskey in "Midway" (2019). Back in his 20s, he was cast as Roger in the West End musical "Rent" and Chris in "Miss Saigon".

Although he has a straight, strong image, including the role of Gaston, he has been self-identifying as gay since the age of 23, when he began his acting career. However, he has spoken in interviews about his troubled adolescence, including leaving his hometown and moving to London on his own when he was in high school due to such emotional struggles.

"Love Is a Battlefield" is the first track on his first album "At Last", released in 2019.
