本日は頻出トピックである"動物実験の是非"についてIELTS講師にライティングを添削していただきました。


質問
Some people say that it is necessary to use animals for testing medicines intended for human use. Others claim it is cruel and unnecessary, and therefore should be banned.
Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

人間が使用する医薬品を実験するために動物を使用することは必要だと言う人もいる。また、動物実験は残酷で不必要であり、禁止されるべきであると主張する人もいる。
これら両方の意見について議論し、あなたの意見を述べなさい。

イントロダクション
As sciences have become advanced, people have developed various kinds of medicines and enjoyed their benefits. However, at the same time, people have faced moral dilemma of animal testing being conducted for human survival and it has long been a controversial problem.

科学の進歩とともに、人々はさまざまな医薬品を開発し、その恩恵を享受してきた。しかしその一方で、人間の生存のために動物実験が行われるという道徳的なジレンマに直面し、長い間論争の的となってきた。

ボディ① 賛成論
Some people agree with the statement because of the following reasons.

次のような理由から、この発言に同意する人もいる。

Initially, animal testing has greatly contributed to the development of medicine, saving people from deadly diseases.

まず、動物実験は医学の発展に大きく貢献し、人々を致命的な病気から救ってきた。

Looking back at our history, there have been numerous cases of pandemic around the world and people were able to overcome them thanks to these developed medicines.

歴史を振り返ってみると、パンデミックは世界中で数多く発生しており、人々はこれらの開発された医薬品のおかげでそれを克服することができた。

Take vaccines for polio and smallpox, for example.These medicines have already saved millions of people’s lives against them both  known as highly lethal illnesses, killing countless number of people around the world.

例えば、ポリオや天然痘のワクチンである。
これらの医薬品は、致死率の高い病気として知られ、世界中で数え切れないほどの人々が命を落としてきた。これらの病気に対して、すでに何百万人もの人々の命を救ってきた。
