I'm reading Natsuki Ikezawa's "Still Life" starting today. It's a work from the 80s.

The scenes of stock trading evoke the era. Back then, we had to contact a securities firm directly to trade stocks. It's depicted as cutting-edge that they're barely using computers, and real-time stock prices are sent via fax. Charming.

"Still Life" refers to 静物 or静物画, focusing on the perception of inanimate objects. The narrative discusses the dilemma of seeking freedom but ending up constrained.

I once had a stable job but couldn't endure the mundane work dictated by my reflexive thoughts. Seeking freedom led to unexpected constraints and despair after quitting. Oh well.

Watched "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" while doing chores at 1.5x speed for about 20 minutes. Princess Leia looked sexy. The plot progressed without clear understanding of why Jabba the Hutt owned the frozen Han Solo.

Read "Yowamushi Pedal" for free during a limited period. Ended up in tears.
