I'Rise Associates株式会社｜証券用語｜為替レート（かわせれーと）
国内通貨と外国通貨との交換比率のことを為替レートという。
米ドルとの為替レートは、以前は1ドル360円に固定されていたが、現在は、通貨に対する需要と供給によって変わる「変動相場制」へ移行している。
為替レートは、「外国為替市場」という日本や外国の銀行や金融機関同士の取引の場があって、そこでのやりとりで決まる。
とはいっても、金融商品取引所のような取引をする場所はなく、相対取引または短資会社の仲介で、メールや電話でのやり取りで決められている。
円高・円安は、通常のお金が高い・安いという感覚とは別である。
例えば、
120円から110円方向に向かうことを「円高」
110円から120円方向に向かうことを「円安」
