Translation Studies Diary of 31 August, 2024 (7)

I consider science to be a religion.
Science prides itself on logical thinking and consistency.
However, science has the problem of uncertainty, which researchers can be seen to ignore and stick to the end goal of being able to uncover the truth through scientific thinking.

The humanities are often criticised because knowledge does not seem to be properly accumulated.
I would argue that this is to be expected. This is because doubt is the task of the humanities, including philosophy and linguistics.

I want to use theories of translation studies to explore the above in a field that does not presuppose a single language.
