Diary of June 11

I believe "intralingual translation" as well as normal translation (interlingual translation) to be essential to translation studies.

This is translation within the same language and may involve paraphrasing, explaining, adding or cutting information.
It is used when you have to explain something to someone who does not understand your background.
Intralingual translation shares with regular translation in that it changes the mode of expression but maintains the meaning and meets the requirements of a different reader or listener.

The similarities and differences between these translations will lead to a clarification of the nature of language.
