139B.  THE SHOPPING STREET

  There are many sketches of every spot on the shopping street.

                 Staff:     Before it starts, let's take back a little bit from this
　　　　　　　　  place.
  Another staff:     So then, we'll start it.
  Another staff:     Okay, stop!
             Kimura:    GO! GO! GO! GO!
                 Staff:    Please.
                   Sao:    Good!

  The extra starts to move altogether.

        Kobayashi:  Ready! Set! Action!

  The street suddenly becomes busy.

              Ririka:     Yusuke! Yusuke! Yusuke!
             Kiriko:     Sorry.
                 Ken:     Welcome!
         Koizumi:     I'm already blending in with the crowd!
             Kiriko:     I'll buy this.
                 Ken:     Ms. A, thank you.
             Kiriko:    (Smile)
                 Ken:    By the way, are you free today?
             Kiriko:     Huh?
                 Ken:    After this location, can we meet?
                Den:    Mr. B, Mr. B! Don't love to Ms. A during the role.
          Koizumi:    Leave me alone!
              Ririka:    No!
                 Den:    Huh, because Ms. A wants to be an actress. She doesn't  
                             have much time to chat with Mr. B. She must
                             concentrate on the play.
                 Ken:    Mr. C, if she becomes Pro, I wish you knew she is not on 
                             the screen. Though she is not, she just plays on the
                             screen wherever she is Mr. C is not Pro. 
                 Den:   Shut up.
              Kiriko:   I will be an actress. Please be quiet and play this time
                            for now.
                 Ken:   What are you doing as usual?
              Kiriko:   So then, I guess you put as if you don't put your mask
                            on.
                 Ken:    Mr. C, Mr. C, now the camera takes a different direction.
                             Just look at it.

  Someone grabs Kiriko's hand and she goes back to her position.

  There is a mysterious lady who puts on a mask.

  Mysterious Lady(ML):    You can stay here.
                            Kiriko:    Huh?
                                 ML:    We are free. You and I are going to be free.
                            Kiriko:     Who are you?
                               Den:     Young lady, follow the rules.
                                ML:   (She picks up the paper of the pistol) Shut up!

  Den gets silent. A mysterious lady stares at Ken.  Ken raises his hands.

  Ken:    Nuisance? That's such a crazy excuse. Nothing is good and evil.
              If I need it, I'll come!

  A mysterious lady rips off a mask. The lady is Yasuko. Yasuko punches Ken and goes up.

  Yasuko:    Kiriko.
    Kiriko:    Yasuko.
  Yasuko:    Let's take over the main role.
    Kiriko:    What is it?
  Yasuko:    You have to decide it!
    Kiriko:    Decide…
  Yasuko:    You must decide!
    Kiriko:    Okay.
  Yasuko:    From now, let's take over!

  Ririka shows up with the stylist Tachikawa and the manager. She looks at Yasuko and Kiriko and gets a smile.

              Ririka:    I'm tired of doing for several times.
                             But just a little bit more.
              Kiriko:    I see.
              Ririka:    Do you want to be an actress?
              Kiriko:    Yes.
              Ririka:    It's pretty hard to come up in this world.
            Yasuko:    From now, we'll come up.
              Ririka:    Huh?
            Yasuko:    Now.
              Kiriko:    Now.
              Ririka:    Ah-ha-ha. What do you say that?
                  Jey:    Be natural. Be natural.
                  Joe:    All of the extras will start to move by "Set! Not
                             "Action". Don't make an action by yourself! Just listen
                             to us!
               Extra:    Yes!
                  Joe:    Your voice is small!
               Extra:    YES!
  Sub-director:    So then, we will start! (To the boss of the extra)
                             Move! Move!

  Ririka becomes silent.

      Kobayashi:    Set! Action!

  Ririka starts to stagger. Yasuko who puts on a mask is looking behind her. Yasuko sticks to Kiriko's back a paper of the pistol.

    Ririka:    Yusuke! Yusuke! Yusuke! Yusuke! Yusuke!
  Yasuko:    Take over the main role! Understand?
    Kiriko:    Yes, ma'am.

  Yasuko starts to walk.

  Ririka:    Yusuke! Yusuke! Yusuke! Yusuke! Yusuke! Yusuke! Yusuke!
                 Yuuusuke!

  Kiriko pushes down Ririka!

  Sub-director:     Cut!
               Staff:     Hold it!
                 Joe:     Those two…

  Kobayashi looks at Katako on the monitor. Katako talks to him and says "Kobayashi, Kobayashi".

  Kobayashi:    Quit it! I'm off here!
             Joe:     Ahh, Kobayashi!
  Kobayashi:    Gooooooo, hoooome!
             Joe:     Cu…! Cut!
          Muto:    Ahh! Kobayashi!

  Kobayashi gets away in a hurry.

  Muto:    Hey, Joe! Do something! Come on!

  The faith club follows Kobayashi's back. Joe continues to follow him.

  Club members:    Mr. Kobayashi! Mr. Kobayashi!
         Kobayashi:    (During running) Gooooo, hoooome!
                 Muto:    Tsutomu! Do something!
            Tsutomu:    Yes, sir!

  Kobayashi keeps running.

  Faith club:    Mr. Kobayashi~!

  Muto dares to Yamamuro.

  Yamamuro:    You must do something!
           Muto:    No, it's your turn.
  Yamamuro:    What did you say?  You, stupid!
           Muto:    No, it's you. Stupid!
                Kii:    Anyway hurry up!

  Michio comes beside Anon.

  Michio:    Let's run off together.

  Michio pulls her hand.

  Anon:    What the!

  Anon slaps Michio's face. Michio falls and hits on other extras.

　　　　　木村：　GO! GO! GO! GO!
　　　スタッフ：　お願いします
　　　　　サオ：　大丈夫です！

　エキストラ、一斉に動き出す。

　　　　　小林：　はい！よーい！スタート！

　突然賑やかなになる通り。

　梨々香：　ユースケ！ユースケ！ユースケー！
　　切子：　すいません
　　ケン：　いらっしゃいませ！
　　小泉：　僕はもう群衆に溶けているんだ！
　　切子：　これ　ください
　　ケン：　Aさん、ありがとうございます
　　切子：　（笑）
　　ケン：　今日、これから暇？
　　切子：　え？
　　ケン：　撮影のあと、会わない？
　　でん：　Bさん、Bさん、撮影中にAさんの事　口説かない
　　小泉：　ひとりにしてくれ！
　梨々香：　いやよ！
　　でん：　え、だってAさんは、女優目指してんでしょ。Bさんなんかと遊
　　　　　　んでる暇はないよ。ちゃんと芝居しなきゃ
　　ケン：　Cさん、プロだったら今、カメラに映ってないかくらいわかる
　　　　　　よね？カメラに映ってないけど、いつ映ってもいいように何と
　　　　　　なく芝居してればいいの。Cさんはプロじゃないか～。
　　でん：　うるせぇ
　　切子：　私、女優になるんです。静かにしてくれませんか。もっとちゃ

　　切子：　そうやって、仮面を被っていないように装ってるけど

　　でん：　昔、映ってるかなぁって振り向いて、カメラと目があって助監
　　　　　　督にブン殴られてからもう、そーいうことしないの
　　ケン：　素人だなぁ（笑）
　　切子：　つまらないことを言ってても本音にはならない
　　ケン：　オレは駆け出しなの。まだまだこれから
　　切子：　真剣に生きてほしい
　梨々香：　わかってる、でも
　ひろな：　どうする気？歯子！
　アノン：　おーい、大変よ！みんな！
　　小林：　カーット！アノン！何度言ったらわかるんだよ！なあ！
　ジョー：　もう一回。みなさん、元の位置に戻ってくださーい。もう一回
　　　　　　行きまーすよ。切子さん　元の位置、通行人に戻って下さい

　元の位置に戻ろうとする切子のことをサッと誰かが掴む。

　　切子：　えっ？

　お面を被った謎の女。

　　謎女：　あんたはここにいていいよ
　　切子：　え？
　　謎女：　私たちは自由なの。私とあなたは自由になろう
　　切子：　誰ですか？
　　でん：　お嬢さん　ルール守って
　　謎女：　（紙のピストルを取り出す）黙ってな！

　でん、黙る。謎女、ケンを睨む。ケン、両手を上げる。

　　ケン：　何（笑）面白いんだけど。お前みたいなの　必要悪って言うん
　　　　　　だろ？
　　謎女：　必要悪なんてキザな言いわけ。善も悪もない。必要とあれば参
　　　　　　上する！

　謎女は、紙のお面をズラす。女は安子。安子、ケンを殴って押す。

　　安子：　切子さん
　　切子：　安子
　　安子：　主役を乗っ取るよ
　　切子：　なんのこと？
　　安子：　覚悟を引きだす
　　切子：　覚悟・・・
　　安子：　覚悟するの！
　　切子：　わかった
　　安子：　今から乗っ取るよ！

　梨々香が衣裳の立川とマネージャーを引き連れてやってくる。梨々香は安子と切子を見て微笑む。

　　　梨々香：　大変ね、何回もやらしちゃって。あとちょっとだから
　　　　切子：　そうですか
　　　梨々香：　女優になりたいの？
　　　　切子：　はい
　　　梨々香：　大変よ、この世界でのし上がるのは
　　　　安子：　今から、のし上がるよ
　　　梨々香：　え？
　　　　安子：　今すぐね
　　　　切子：　今すぐ
　　　梨々香：　あはは、何言ってんの？
　　　  　　J：　てきとうに　てきとうに
　　　ジョー：　エキストラの皆さんは、『よーい！スタート！』の『よー　
　　　　　　　　い！』で動き出します。スタートじゃないですよ、エキス　
　　　　　　　　トラの皆さん、動き勝手に作らないで下さい！指示した通
　　　　　　　　りですよ！
　エキストラ：　はい！
　　　ジョー：　返事小さい！
　エキストラ：　はい！
　　　助監督：　はい　じゃあ行きます！（エキストラボスたちに）動い
　　　　　　　　て！動いて！

　梨々香がだまる。

　小林：　よーい！スタート！

　梨々香、ヨロヨロと歩いていく。その後ろ姿を見ているお面をつけた安子。安子、切子の背中に紙のピストルを突きつける。

　梨々香：　ユースケ！ユースケ！ユースケ！ユースケ！ユースケ！

　切子、梨々香を押し倒す！

　　助監督：　カット！
　スタッフ：　カチンコ～
　　ジョー：　あいつら・・・

　小林、モニターのなかに方子の姿を見る。方子は「小林、小林」と語りかける。

　　小林：　やめた！俺、帰る！
　ジョー：　あ、監督！
　　小林：　かーえーるー！！
　ジョー：　かっ！カット！
　　武藤：　あ、監督！

　小林監督心中クラブが後を追う。続いてジョーも追いかける。

　心中たち：　小林様！小林様！
　　　小林：（走りながら）カーエールー
　　　武藤：　勉！何とかしろ！
　　　　勉：　はい！

140、　路上

　小林が走っていく。

　　　　小林：　方子ー！方子ー！
　心中クラブ：　小林さまー！
　　　　小林：　方子ー！方子ー！
　心中クラブ：　小林さまー！
　　　ジョー：　監督ー！

140A、　商店街

　武藤が山室にけしかける。

　山室：　お前が何とかしろよ！
　武藤：　オメエだろ！
　山室：　なんだ？その言い方は　馬鹿野郎！
　武藤：　なんとかしろよ　馬鹿野郎！
　キー：　とにかく何とかしろよ！

　アノンの横に満郎が来る。

　満郎：　駆け落ちしよう

　手を引っ張る満郎。

　アノン：　ちょっと！

　アノン、満郎をひっぱたく。満郎は倒れ、他のエキストラにぶつかる。

NOTES

　■　Nothing is good and evil.
　　転じて「良いも悪いもない。」という意味。

　■　let's take over!
　　take overは「支配する」という意味。SFなどの映画やアニメに登場する　　　　
　悪役が言う台詞として用いられる。安子は映画の主役を奪うために「乗っ
　取るよ！」と言った。
　　ex.  My purpose is to take over the world.
　　　　我が目的は世界を支配することだ。

　■　I'm off here!
　　小林監督が映画撮影中に方子の幻を見てしまい、耐えきれずに「止め
　る！俺帰る！」と言い出したときの言葉。映画づくりに集中できず、最後
　に「バカになる」瞬間となった。
