  Kii:  Cut! Not good. Let's preview now.

  There is a monitor base near the location and, Kobayashi turns back. He says to Kii.

Kobayashi:  What scene?  Could you preview that one more time?

  Kii rewinds a tape and plays it again, and the last scene is previewed. Joe also comes to the monitor.

  Joe:  What is it?
   Kii:  This extra makes a strange thing to do.
  Joe:  Oh, which?
   Kii:  This.
  Joe:  Gosh, I wish they would be honest. The extra will be honest,
           then this movie can succeed. Come on!
   Kii:  Anybody figures out that action.
  Joe:  How dare they are…

  Joe leaves for the monitor and gets into the street.

       Joe:  All the extra! Don't take any action yourself!
                Listen to what we say.
  Extras:  All ~ right.

  And then, he goes in front of Jey and Kiko.

          Joe:  Hey, you guys.
          Jey:  Yes.
        Kiko:  Yes.
          Joe:  A little bit conspicuous.
  Mitsuko:  Oh, we did it!
          Jey:  Huh?
          Joe:  Did you kiss with this woman?
          Jey:  Yes.
          Joe:  You don't need to do that.
        Kiko:  Sorry.
          Joe:  They take your scene, so don't take any action.
          Jey:  You said you take our scene, so we'll be honest like that.
         Joe:  Huh? Like that?
       Shin:  We take action, and everyone has fun in this movie.
         Joe:  No! Those three actors Ririka, Hirona, and Anon are the main
                  cast on the screen. You guys! You are like a mist on the screen.

  Joe directly goes to the different extra. He says to Jasmin, Kubo, Susumu, and Kayo.

   Extras:  Thank you very much!

  For Fukami, Ami, and Taeko,

          Joe:  Very nice!
   Fukami:  Me? We are in a casual.
          Jey:  When is the end of taking the movie?
   Fukami:  Why?
        Shin:  We are extra. We don't have to think about anything. The
                   hard action is that the main cast will think it. Extra can't touch
                   this. Extra pretends to speak to each other. Pretends to think.
                   Pretends to play. Live like pretending to be free.
        Kiko:  Well, that is similar to my life.
  Mitsuko:  What's the matter, Kiko?
         Ami:  Kiko's life is like an extra. I'm always the main cast of my life.

  Mitsuko:  Ami, stop that…

  Joe speaks with a big voice to them, "We almost start to take again!"

            Joe:  Everyone, we will say "Set! Action!", then you move on to
                     the street. It's not started yet. Hey, you! No talking! Quiet!
                     Concentrate on it!
           Taya:  Joe. he becomes awful.
              Kii:  Just he is sad. He cries instead of Kobayashi.
             Joe:  Your reply is small.
   All extras:  Yes!
             Joe:  Then, we'll start it! Kobayashi!
  Kobayashi:  …
              Joe:  It's about time.
       Kimura:  His feelings are important. Now, let's go on.
             Sao:  Okay.
  Kobayashi:  Ready! Set!
             Joe:  Move!

   The passersby start to move and talk with each other.

  Kobayashi:  Action!
     Shimura:  Be natural, be natural!

  Ririka stands up and looks around. She starts to stagger.

  Ririka:  Yusuke… Yusuke… Yusuke!
     Ken:  Good luck (To Kiriko)

  The photographer Kimura follows Ririka and moves on by camera. Ririka starts to wander down in the passersby. The extra walks with having fun.

  Kanna:  Nothing… nothing here.

  When Ririka walks somewhere to find Hirona, Shin and others are talking with no meaning over the open cafe.

        Shin:  Hey, round and round and round.
  Mitsuko:  What's that?
          Jey:  Yes, yes. Round and round.
        Kiko:  Many times for round and round.
        Shin:  Nothing in particular.
  Mitsuko:  No! What's this conversation?! I can't figure it out.
          Jey:  Extra pretend to be the passerby and go round and round.
  Mitsuko:  I said stop it!
      Ririka:  Sorry! I love that man! Yusuke! Yusuke! Yusuke!
    Hirona:  Shiko!

  Hirona and Ririka hugs.

          Anon:  Heeey! Big news, you two!
  Kobayashi:  Cuuuuut!
              Joe:  Cut~!

  Everyone stops.

  Kobayashi:  Anon! I've told you many times.
          Anon:  Sorry.

  Michio is grinning.

  Kobayashi: In this case, you need to be loud like "BIG NEWS!"!
          Anon:  Excuse me.
  Kobayashi:  If you do the same thing, you might change this cast
                      to extra! Many people want to be an actor and an actress in
                      the crowd. Okay, everyone, do you want to be an actress?!
                      Raise your hands!

  Kobayashi screams to all the extra. All extra raise their hands and say "Yes!". Michio also raises his hand.

       Troupe:  I want to!
  Kobayashi:  Who should anyone take the position of her?
       Michio:  Quit it!
             Joe:  Quiet!
         Anon:  I will do it properly!

  Kiriko looks at Kobayashi seriously.

  Kobayashi:  So, one more take!
       Kimura:  Joe, hurry up.
             Joe:  Everyone, go back to your position! Start soon!
       Michio:  Anon, quit it! Anon, quit it!

  On the shopping street, children are rolling the camera.

　キー：　今のカット、絶対よくないよ。ちょっとプレビューして

　近くにモニターベースがあって監督の小林が戻ってくる。キーに向かって、

　小林：　何が？今のもう一回プレビューしてみて

　と言う。キーが巻き戻し再生を押すと先ほどのシーンがプレビューされる。ジョーもやってくる。

　ジョー：　何すか？
　　キー：　ここのエキストラ、変な動きしてる
　ジョー：　え、どれ
　　キー：　ここ
　ジョー：　もう、普通にしてりゃいいのに。エキストラって普通にしてり
　　　　　　ゃなんとかなるんだし！まったく！
　　キー：　目立つよ　この動き
　ジョー：　あいつら・・・

　ジョーがモニターから離れて路上に出ていく。

　　　　　ジョー：　エキストラの皆さーん！動き勝手に作らないでくださ
　　　　　　　　　　ーい！指示した通りですよ！
　エキストラたち：　はーい

　そして、Jとキコの前に行く。

　 ジョー：　ねぇ、君ら
　J・キコ：　ハイ
　 ジョー：　ちょっと目立つんだよね
　 みつこ：　やったじゃん！
　　　　J：　はい？
　  ジョー：　キスしてたでしょ、この子と
　　　　 J：　ハイ
　  ジョー：　そこまでしなくてもいいから
　　  キコ：　すいません
　  ジョー：　ちゃんと映ってるんだからさ、油断しないでよ
　　　　 J：　ちゃんと映ってるから、ちゃんとしようと思ったんですけど
　  ジョー：　え？どういう設定？自分らは
　　  シン：　設定作って楽しむくらい　いいじゃないですか
　  ジョー：　良くないよ！あそこに立ってる梨々香さん、ひろなさん、ア
　　　　　　  ノンさんがこのシーンでカメラに映ってる人たちなの。君ら

　ジョーはそのまま違うエキストラに向かっていく。ジャスミンとクボ、ススム、カヨに向かって、

　　　　　ジョー：　君たちはさりげなくてとてもいい！
　エキストラたち：　ありがとうございます！

　フカミとアミ、妙子にも、

　　　　　ジョー：　さりげなくていいよ！

　ジョーが去っていく。

　フカミ：　俺も？さりげなくていいってさ
　　　  J：　早く終わってくんねぇかな
　フカミ：　何で？
　　シン：　俺たちはエキストラなんだろ、何も考えなくていいの。そーい
　　　　　　う難しいことは主人公が考える。エキストラは関係ない。エキ
　　　　　　ストラは喋ってるフリ。幸せなフリして生きてりゃいいのよ
　　キコ：　なんか、それって私の人生みたい
　みつこ：　どうした　キコ
　　アミ：　キコは人生がエキストラ、私はいつだって自分の人生の主人公
　　　　　　よ、キコちゃん
　みつこ：　アミ—　やめなよー
　　キコ：　あら、そう。良かったわね
　　シン：　こらこら、エキストラが本気でケンカしちゃダメだろ
　みつこ：　なんかあった？
　　　  J：　てきとうに、てきとうに

　向こうで「そろそろまた行きますよ！」と言うジョーの大声。

　　　　　ジョー：　エキストラの皆さーん、よーい！スタート！のよー
　　　　　　　　　　い！で動き出しますよ。スタートじゃないですよ、ハ
　　　　　　　　　　イ、そこ！ずっとしゃべってない！うるさい！集中し
　　　　　　　　　　て！
　　　　　　田屋：　ジョー、荒れてんなぁ
　　　　　　キー：　悲しいんだろ。小林の代わりに泣いてんだよ
　　　　　ジョー：　返事小さい
　エキストラ全員：　ハイッ！
　　　　　ジョー：　じゃあ、行きます！（小林に向かって）監督！
　　　　　　小林：　・・・
　　　　　ジョー：　いきますよ！
　　　　　　木村：　ノリが大事なんだよ。もう、サッサとやろうぜ
　　　　　　サオ：　大丈夫です
　　　　　　小林：　はい！よーい！
　　　　　ジョー：　動いて！

　通行人　動き出す。会話し出す。

　　　　　　小林：　スタート！
　　　　　　志村：　自然に　自然に！

　梨々香が立ち尽くし見ている。よろよろと歩き出す。

　　　　　梨々香：　ユースケ・・・ユースケ・・・ユースケ！
　　　　　　ケン：　よろしく（切子に）

　カメラマン木村が梨々香を追って手持ちカメラで移動する。通行人の中をさまよい出す梨々香。エキストラが楽しそうに歩いている。

　　　　　カンナ： 　欠けている・・・欠けている

　梨々香がひろなを探して歩いている時、向こうのオープンカフェではシンたちが意味のない会話をしている。

　　シン：　ねぇ、ぐるぐるぐるぐる
　みつこ：　何それ？
　　　  J：　そうそう、ぐるぐる
　　キコ：　さっきから何回もぐるぐる
　　シン：　どーでもいいわ
　みつこ：　もう！何その会話？！ついていけないんだけど、その会話
　　　  J：　エキストラはさ、通行人のふりしてぐるぐる回るの
　みつこ：　やめてって言ったじゃん、それ！
　梨々香：　すみません！私はあの人を愛してる！ユースケ！ユースケ！ユ
　　　　　　 ースケ！
　ひろな：　歯子！

　抱き合うひろなと梨々香。

　アノン：　おーい！大変よ二人とも！
　　小林：　カーット！
　ジョー：　カットー

　みんな動きが止まる。

　　小林：　アノン！何度言ったらわかるんだよ！
　アノン：　すいません

　満郎、ニヤニヤしている。

　　小林：　ここはもっと、大変だよって声をしないと！
　アノン：　すいません！
　　小林：　そんな演技だったらエキストラと変わってもらうよ！こん中に
　　　　　　も女優目指している人いっぱいいるんだよ！なあ、女優目指し
　　　　　　てる人、手を上げて！

　エキストラ全員に小林が叫ぶ。「ハイッ！」と一斉に手が上がる。満郎も手を上げる。

　　劇団：　やりたいです！
　　小林：　誰か代わりにやってもらうか
　　満郎：　やめちまえ！
　ジョー：　静かにして！
　アノン：　ちゃんとやります！

　切子、小林を冷たく見ている。

　　小林：　ほらっ　もう一回いくよ！
　　木村：　ジョー　早くしろ
　ジョー：　皆、元の位置に戻って！すぐいくよ！
　　満郎：　アノン　やめろ！アノン！やめろ！

　商店街では子供たちがカメラを回している。

　アノンの演技がテイクを何度も行ったにもかかわらず、望むような演出にならないことに腹を立てている小林監督。その様子を見た満郎はアノンに「やめろ！」と声高に叫んでいるようだ。
