October in Kyoto: no mild season, Jidai Matsuri festival in hot or cold?
October in Kyoto 2023
It has suddenly turned cooler, making mornings and evenings more comfortable. I hope this pleasant season continues, but overnight, the temperature dropped by as much as 10 degrees, and I hurriedly pulled out my long-sleeved clothing. Not just clothing, even the bedding is now suitable for winter.
Lately, it feels like there's no longer a distinct spring or autumn. The weather quickly shifts from hot to cold. Could this be due to global warming? Or is it just my perception due to aging?
Anyway, we have a significant event in October – the "Jidai Matsuri festival."
Last year, I watched the parade from the southeast corner of Karasuma Marutamachi. I wonder I could go there again this year.
The sound of the Corps' flutes is simply wonderful. The procession scene of Meiji Restoration-era soldiers dressed in black is beatiful along the Imperial Palces's stonewalls. I hope for high and clear autumn sky on the 22nd.
