Dontosai

I took a lesson with teacher I today.
I shared additional pieces of information about the last lesson with her.
We talked about “dontosai” and incense sticks.

Regarding dontosai, it is held “hadakamairi” in the festival.
Hadaka means naked in Japanese.
A lot of people take part in hadakamairi almost naked, they are in groups of the same companies or schools.
They parade from their places to the shrine with “chouchin” kind of handy lanterns printed with their groups’ names on them.
During the parade, they don’t have to speak, so they put a piece of white paper in their mouths.

Regarding incense sticks, we talked about their fragrances of them in the last lesson.
I told her that fragrances are typically sandalwood, lavender, and sometimes cherry blossoms or green tea.
However, I remembered there were other fragrances coffee and “Milky.”
Milky is Japanese famous milk caramel, I haven’t smelled yet though, but I can imagine it smells very sweet.

I shared one more thing with her.
There used to be an old amusement park nearby, and it was closed in 2020 due to outdated rides, and then the theme park Harry Potter is under the construction, and that is going to open coming this summer.
I’m sure there occurs heavy traffic jams everywhere.

After the lesson, I was reading a novel but I fell asleep.
The shot I got yesterday made me sleepy.
I could take a nap for an hour in the afternoon.
