創立100周年記念懸賞論文：2023年5月12日（金）
1982年に早稲田大学が創立100周年を迎えたときに，私は大学２年生だった。その年に，大学が在学生向けに創立100周年記念事業の一環として学術論文（課題論文，研究論文）の募集を行なっていた。
私は日頃の正直な想いを，学部の部門における課題論文「私と早稲田大学」として書き綴り，幸運にも，優秀作を受賞した。
私の入学当初の想いは，正直なところ，不本意入学との気持ちがあり，晴ればれとしない悶々とした学生生活を過ごしていた。しかしながら，この課題論文を書き上げていくうちに，不思議なことではあったが，自分の気持ちと自分の置かれた境遇を社会的見地から身勝手に評論を試みることで，モヤモヤした支離滅裂な感情が，自分なりに何某かの整理づけを終えることができた。そのとき，文章を書くことによって，ヒトの心は本当に成長することがあるということを身を持って体験することができた。
課題論文は，早稲田大学学生部が発行する『新鐘』第31号（1983年1月）に掲載された。ちなみに，弊作に関する講評は以下のとおりであった。
「藤井君の論文は，ユニークな発想のもとに，関係する文献を参照しながら，所論を展開した特徴のあるものであって，いかにして早稲田大学にあるものが，一体感をもったものとして，自己のおかれた環境のもとで情熱をかたむけて対象にとりくんでゆくことができるか，その問題提起に重要なものがあるとして，入賞と決定されたわけでございます。」
Centennial Prize Essay for the 100th Anniversary of the Foundation：May 12th(Friday)
When Waseda University celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1982, I was a sophomore. In that year, the university organized a call for academic papers (assignment papers, research papers) as part of the centennial commemorative project for current students.
I wrote about my honest thoughts and experiences in a departmental assignment paper titled "Myself and Waseda University," and fortunately, it was recognized as an excellent work and received an award.
To be honest, when I first entered the university, I had mixed feelings of being dissatisfied with my enrollment and had been living a somewhat gloomy student life. However, as I worked on this assignment paper, it was a strange experience that by selfishly criticizing my own feelings and the situation I found myself in from a social perspective, the confusing and scattered emotions I had were able to find some sort of organization in my own way. At that moment, I personally experienced how writing can truly contribute to the growth of one's heart.
The assignment paper was published in the 31st issue of "Shinshō," issued by the Waseda University Student Affairs Division (January 1983). By the way, the commentary regarding my work was as follows:
"Mr. Fujii's paper is a unique and distinctive work that develops its argument based on original ideas while referencing relevant literature. It addresses the important question of how things within Waseda University can be approached with a sense of unity and how one can direct their passion towards the subject within their own environment. That is why it was decided to award it."
