Silence in Life

The intent of this post is to share an idea or thought that have helped me to have a happier life in general.
Will share a simple idea to take 'action'. I strongly believe that taking action is the way for us to change and grow. 
   Hope this post will be a tiny drop that have a good ripple effect in your life as well.

Meaning of Silence in Life

How do  you define silence in life?
   -  Do you define by the sound of the surrounding? 
   -  By the noise level in your head?
   -  Status of being busy occupied with task and media?

In this post, we would like to define silence as 'moment of silence, comfort and peace'

When did you feel your silence in life recently?
   - Today? Last night? A week ago?

Do you fear silence in life?
   I do.
Why do I fear? Sometimes or perhapes consistanly we are always want to be Busy. We define our success by being Busy. I feel losing time or feel bad if I am not spending time with the things I like to do or antyhing that make me feel like I accomplished something. But sometimes it is good to stop for a moment and rethink if our Busy things is actually that importnant for our happiness.

When was your last moment that your were not Busy?
In my case, if I am not Busy I would watch a movie and make myself Busy which I just lost my opportunity to secure moment of silence since I am so Busy to fill in the time. This is becoming much harder as our technology grows. As we all know we are so attached to the phone that can pretty much do anything including disctracting us to have a moment of silence in life.

What do we do to keep us Busy?
   - Movie, internet, SNS or short clips
   - Playing what we love. Sports, games
   - Working, learning

Why do we want to have a silence in life?
Are the things that keep us Busy neccessary bad things? Of course not. We need to work and earn. Learn to grow. Spend time with family and friends. Entertain to relieve stress and enjoy what you like to do. 
However, do you sometimes feel like you are too tired or don't know why you are doing it but you are keep doing it?
Like anything in life we need to rest in life. 
If not we will burn out or make lot less effective or less joyfull.
Let's use the simple example of physical training. Physical training will make us fit and healthy and it is a good activity to perform. However, we all know that in order for us to have an effective triaining for us to be fit we need to have a effective rest. If you don't rest, the effect of the training will be less effective and also it can cause you to have a higher risk to be injured. 
  It will be the same for our mind and heart. We need to sometimes stay away from our exercise (like being busy) and give it a rest to recover.
This will not cause you to waste or lose opportunity. It will be the opposite.
You will feel better, more calmer (better mental status) and happier.

Action - So how do we create silence in life? <--- this is the most important part
There are many answers to this question but below are some thing it might help to have our silence in life.
1. Stop the things that makes us busy (like from the list above)
2. Once you stop, do the things that give you silence like below:
    Give thanks or gratitude of the day
    Take a deep breath and try not to think anything (like Yoga)
    Walking (without listenting to a music or news)
    Write a journal

We don't have to give a certain length or term to do this. But give it a try at least once a week to start or once a day just for few minutes. Give yourself a break from the world.
We may not be able to be in a place that is physically a quiet place. But we can still have our moments in our mind and heart if we work on it.
