Souvenir #25

     Traveling is a lot of fun, but I'm not good at choosing souvenirs.  When I went to Australia, I bought chocolate snack called Tim Tam.  I think giving snacks is easy because anyone can eat them, but I want to give my friends and family something very interesting or funny.  I want to give something that suits their personalities.  When I went to Hawaii, I bought a calendar for my male friend.  Only the calendar has pictures of handsome naked firefighters.  Also in Hawaii, I bought Donald Trump bobble head doll for my friend who teaches social studies at school.
     Although I like to get something not usual in Japan,  my colleague gave me weird food that I could't resist; beer-flavored gummies from Germany.  It tasted like real beer and I couldn't swallow it.  I couldn't tell my colleague it tasted disgusting, and I threw the pack away without being noticed.

　私なら日本で馴染みのないものをもらいたいと思うのだが、同僚が変な食べ物をくれた。私はそれに耐えられなかった。それはドイツのビール味のグミである。それは本当にビールの味がして、私には飲み込めなかった。同僚にはまずいと言えずに、私はグミの袋を気づかれずに捨てた。
