2022年サッカーワールドカップ・カタール大会は、One Loveの承認を優先。
ドイツのインフォグラフィクスを紹介しているハンブルク(Stadt Hamburg)にあるStatista GmbHのデータ・ジャーナリスト(data Journalist)のマティアス・ブラント(Mathias Brandt)の報告として2022年11月21日に、「FIFAの決勝大会では、各チームのキャプテンはFIFAが用意した腕章を着用しなければならない。」というFIFA独自の規定があるから、カタール・ワールドカップでのワンラブ・キャプテン腕章の着用を禁止した。
ドイツ、イギリスのほか、オランダ、ベルギー、スイス、ウェールズ、フランス、デンマーク、ノルウェー、スウェーデンが参加を希望していた。
カラフルなストライプのハートと数字の「1」が描かれた腕章は、LGBTQ+の排除や人種差別、反ユダヤ主義に対してシグナルを送ることを意図している。
2022年11月初旬、Statista Global Consumer Surveyは、イギリスとドイツの人々に、このような連帯バッジについてどう思うかを尋ねた。
結果は、圧倒的に賛成が多かった。
反対はイギリスでは8％、ドイツでは14％と少数派にとどまった。
カタール大会では、すでに人種差別問題は、大会前から大きな話題であった。
そして登場したのが、カラフルなストライプのハートと数字の「1」が描かれた腕章は、ヨーロッパ・サッカーの主要チームによる反攻であった。
このような場合、人間のプライドとして、必ずルール違反者がでる。
