パレスチナの Leila Khaled, レバノンの Mashrou' Leila ー エリック・クラプトンの Layla, ペルシャの Layla and Majnun

タイトルに並べたライラもしくはレイラ（Leila, Layla）、関連があるようで無いような。少なくとも「名前つながり」という意味においては、関連はある。レイラ（ライラ）というのは、アラブ世界やペルシャ（現在のイラン）などに古くから存在する女性の名前である。

昨日の投稿テキストの冒頭で、ここから 4本（たぶん 1日1本）、一昨日の「レバノン、ベイルート爆発から25日」と題する投稿の中身に関連する .. 4つの事柄について投稿する、と書いたけれど、残り 3本のうち 2本、今日投稿しようと思う。

と書いたのだが、1本分のテキストを書いていたら、いつの間にやらこんな時間。やはり結局はこの 1本だけにすると思う、今日は（と今、下書き保存したテキストを編集中なのだ）。

一昨日の投稿テキストは現時点で「いいね」（note では「スキ」ということは知ってるけどね）が 2つ、昨日の投稿は現時点で反応なし。分かってはいるけれど、中東地域に関心がある人はこの note 界にそう多くはいない。というか、少ない。まぁ筆者の note アカウントのフォロワーが、そもそも少ないのだが（笑）。

本投稿のタイトルの上に掲げたのは、イスラエルが 1967年以来、半世紀以上にわたり国連安保理決議に違反して不当に占領し続けるパレスチナのヨルダン川西岸地区にある、イスラエルが建設した「アパルトヘイト」の壁、非人道的な、違法占領地内にイスラエルが建設したイスラエル人の違法入植地とパレスチナ人の居住地域を隔てる分離壁、その壁のパレスチナ人居住区側に描かれた、ライラ・カリド (ليلى خالد,‎ Leila Khaled) の肖像。

彼女は、現在、パレスチナ民族評議会員で（パレスチナ民族評議会 Palestinian National Council, PNC はパレスチナ解放機構 PLO の議決機関で、パレスチナの国会にあたる機関）、元パレスチナ解放人民戦線（PFLP）の女性活動家、かつてのハイジャック闘争の闘士。

パレスチナ解放人民戦線（PFLP）とは、ジョージ・ハバシュ (جورج حبش‎, George Habash, 1926年8月2日 - 2008年1月26日, パレスチナ人・パレスチナ解放運動活動家・医学博士) が設立した組織で、PLO に参加しているパレスチナ解放運動組織のうちの一機関。

ジョージ・ハバシュの肖像は、1983年10月12日に筆者がパレスチナ、ヨルダン川西岸地区のビルゼイト大学を訪ねた時に撮った写真（以前の投稿のタイトル上に掲げた写真）の中で、写真の左上、パレスチナの旗を挟み、ヤーセル・アラファート (ياسر عرفات‎, Yasser Arafat, 1929年8月24日 - 2004年11月11日, 元PLO執行委員会議長) の反対側に写っている。

Mashrou' Leila は、レバノンのインディ系ロックバンドの名前。

一昨日の note 投稿テキストの中で取り上げた、先週4夜連続で行なわれていた「日本では報道されないレバノンの真実」と題するオンライン・イヴェント、その第3夜のセッションにおいて、法貴潤子氏による「レバノンの宗教と難民」（宗教や難民の問題の他、レバノン社会におけるタブーや結婚事情といった話題も取り上げられていた）と題するお話の中で、紹介されていたバンドである。

LGBT の人たちがそのことをカミング・アウトしながら生きることは中東の、イスラム圏の諸国においてかなりの困難を伴うのだが（ここでは詳述しないが、一言で言うと、大抵の場合、命の危険すら伴う）、このバンドのヴォーカリストはゲイであることを公にしつつ、音楽活動をしている。LGBT の人たちが「生きやすい」とまでは言えないだろうが、レバノンはその点で、他のアラブ諸国とはだいぶ事情が異なりそうである。

なお、そもそもレバノンには他のアラブ諸国と大きく異なる点がいくつかあり、例えば宗教について言えば、現在、イスラム教徒が多数派ではあるものの、彼らがレバノンの人口に占める比率は50%余で、同国では、キリスト教徒も4割ほど暮らしている。もっとも、LGBT をタブー視することにおいては、キリスト教徒のコミュニティもムスリムのコミュニティとそう変わらないのではあるが（ただし一般的にはムスリム社会の方がより厳しいものと思われる）。

Layla

Layla は、ロックファンなら誰でも知っている、エリック・クラプトン Eric Clapton (Eric Patrick Clapton) の, デレク・アンド・ザ・ドミノス Derek and the Dominos 時代、1970年リリースの曲のタイトル。

クラプトンが生涯の友、元ビートルズ Beatles の ジョージ・ハリスン George Harrison (February 25, 1943 – November 29, 2001) の当時の妻でモデルのパティ・ボイド Pattie Boyd (Patricia Anne Boyd, ファースト・ネームとクラプトンのミドル・ネームに共通項が .. まぁたまたまだけど、笑) を愛してしまい、その悩み・もがき・苦しみを歌にしてしまったという、あの歌。

因みにこの曲で超絶美しいスライド・ギターを弾いているのは、オールマン・ブラザース・バンド Allman Brothers Band の デュエイン・オールマン Duane Allman (November 20, 1946 – October 29, 1971) で、前半部分、後半のピアノコーダに入る前のパートでは空を駆けていくようなパッショネイトなスライドを聞かせ、ピアノ・コーダのパートに入ると、ピアノに寄り添って静かに美しいスライド・ギターの音を奏でている。言うまでもなくオールマンズでのデュエインの演奏も素晴らしいが、この曲での彼のプレイは一味違うものと言えるかもしれない。

「因みに」ついでに言うと、この曲の作詞はクラプトン、作曲は前半部分がやはりクラプトンだが、後半のピアノ・コーダは、クレジットにもあってよく言われるデレク・アンド・ザ・ドミノスのドラマーであったジム・ゴードン Jim Gordon ではなく、実際には、当時ジム・ゴードンの恋人であったリタ・クーリッジ Rita Coolidge, これについてはいつか note に投稿するかもしれない（もっとも、少なくないクラプトン・ファンが既に知っていると思われる）。

Layla and Majnun

エリック・クラプトン、デレク・アンド・ザ・ドミノス時代の傑作「レイラ」, "Layla" は、クラプトンの、親友ジョージ・ハリスンの妻パティ・ボイドへの「許されぬ愛」が歌われた歌だが（後にハリスン夫妻は離婚、妻だったパティはクラプトンと結婚する、因みにその結婚パーティにはジョージ・ハリスンも出席、しかしクラプトンとパティも後に離婚、括弧長いな）、あの歌は一方で、12世紀のペルシア文学の詩人、ニザーミー・ギャンジェヴィー Nizami Ganjavi (Persian: نظامی گنجوی‎, romanized: Niẓāmī Ganjavī, lit. 'Niẓāmī of Ganja') (1141–1209) による物語、「ライラとマジュヌーン」, Layla and Majnun にインスパイアされて作られたことが、ファンの間では広く知られている（「ライラとマジュヌーン」自体は、7世紀のアラブのベドウィン詩人とその恋人についてのアラブの物語をオリジンとする）。
