偶然の出会いと感謝の心

今日の話は「苦労を知る」というテーマです。昨日、大阪で仕事がありました。新しいお客様との商談で、名刺を見たお客様が「1978年に創立されたんですね」と言い、話が始まりました。なんと、そのお客様の誕生日が1978年7月で、私も同じ年の7月生まれで、誕生日が2日しか違わないことがわかりました。仕事の話よりプライベートの話で盛り上がり、1時間ほど話しました。こんな偶然もあるんですね。

Today's topic is "Understanding Hardships." Yesterday, I was in Osaka for work. During a business meeting with a new customer, the customer noticed that my company was founded in 1978, which led to a conversation. It turned out that the customer's birthday is in July 1978, and so is mine, with only two days difference. We ended up talking about personal topics for about an hour instead of work. It was a nice coincidence.

Now, let's get to the main topic. Essie, who runs a wholesale business of seaweed, tea, and peanuts in Chiba Prefecture, was troubled by disagreements with her father and consulted a trusted business leader. She was asked if she knew how much her father struggled to build the company and decided to listen to his story. She learned that her father, who lost his own father during middle school, built the company out of a desire to provide a better life for his family. This realization filled her with gratitude, changing her attitude towards her father and work. Gratitude fuels energy and leads to a proactive approach. Listening to our parents' stories helps deepen our appreciation. It’s important to value our parents while they are still with us.
