　子どもたちのための無料のプログラミングクラブ「CoderDojo名護」は沖縄科学技術大学院大学（OIST）を会場として下記のとおり、地域の子どもたちを対象としたイベントを実施いたします。

　子どもたちにとって貴重な体験となるイベントでありますので、多くの皆さまに本取り組みをお伝えしたく、お忙しいところ恐縮ではありますが、当日の取材についてご検討下さいますようお願い申し上げます。

テクノロジーとつくること・表現することに趣味を持つ人が世代を超えて集うコミュニティです。

・内容

　科学の新たなフロンティアを開拓するため、分野の垣根を越えた研究を行っている沖縄科学技術大学院大学（OIST）で、子どものためのプログラミングクラブCoderDojo名護がプログラミング体験会を開催します。
　CoderDojo は7〜17歳を対象とした非営利のプログラミング道場で、2011
年にアイルランドで始まり、世界では100カ国・2,000の道場、日本には221
以上の道場があります。今回、沖縄科学技術大学院大学（OIST）で開催する初めてのCoderDojoイベントになります。
　イベントでは沖縄科学技術大学院大学（OIST）に勤務する海外からの技術者等がボランティアとして参加する予定で、主体的にプログラミングや科学を学ぶ子どもたちをサポートします。

Press Release "Programming Experience at Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST)

　CoderDojo Nago, a free programming club for children, will hold the following event for local children at the Okinawa Institute of
Science and Technology (OIST).

　We would like to inform as many people as possible about this valuable experience for children, and would appreciate your kind cooperation in covering the event.

Organized by

CoderDojo Nago CoderDojo Nago is a non-profit programming club for children in the northern region of Okinawa Prefecture. It is a community of people of all ages who are interested in technology and creating and expressing themselves.

Contents

CoderDojo Nago, a programming club for children, will hold a hands-on programming session at the OIST, which conducts cross-disciplinary research to explore new frontiers in science.　
CoderDojo is a non-profit programming dojo for 7-17 year olds, started in Ireland in 2011, with 2,000 dojos in 100 countries worldwide and over 221 in Japan. This will be the first CoderDojo event to be held at the OIST.　
The event will be attended by engineers from overseas who work at OIST will volunteer to support children in the event.
