September 21, 2022: Prosthetic Joints, Security Check(2), Charles de Gaulle Airport , Bare Hips（人工関節、セキュリティチェック(2)、シャルルドゴール空港, むき出しの尻）

I used to use many airports for business. Among them was Charles de Gaulle Airport in France, which had the tightest security. As usual, when I went through a security check, it detected my prosthetic joint. I explained to the security officer that I had the joint in my hip. Nevertheless, I was taken to another room. He touched my body with his hands and checked it with a handy detector. At this point, there was nothing wrong with me. I should have gotten released if I were at other airports, but not at Charles de Gaulle Airport. The officer asked me to show my bare hips! I was reluctant to unbuckle my belt and pull down my pants. Then, he checked it with his eyes and released me. It humiliated me.
When I used the airport again, I was asked to show a certificate that I had a prosthetic joint in my hip. I was fortunate to have and show it to the officer. But I had my body checked with his hands and a handy detector.
Airports in the United States always require me to take off and run my shoes through a detector. It is another pain for me.
When I used airports mainly for business, I used to go through security checks early to secure the time for careful security checks. I have lately heard body scanners are in use for security checks. I hope that it will remove every inconvenience of mine.

　昔は、仕事で空港をよく利用しました。セキュリティが一番厳しかったのがパリのシャルルドゴール空港です。探知機ゲートを通過すると例によって、探知機が反応しました。人工関節が入っていると説明したのですが、別室に連れて行かれました。そして、いつも通り、ボクの体を手で触ってチェックします。そして、ハンディタイプの探知機で入念に再チェックされました。この時点で、問題はなく、他の空港なら解放してくれるのですが、シャルルドゴール空港は違いました。何と、お尻を出せと言われたのです。仕方なく、ベルトを外して、パンツを下げてお尻を見せました。お尻を目視で確認ご、解放されたました。大変な恥をかかされました。
　また、別の時には、人工股関節が入っている証明書を出せと言われました。この時は、幸運にも英文の証明書を持っていたので、それを差し出しました。それでも、手とハンディ探知機でチェックされました。米国では、探知機のゲートを通る際、靴も脱がなければなりません。足の悪いボクには本当に面倒です。
　空港では、必ず金属探知機に引っかかるので、早めにゲートを通るようにしていました。最近は、ボディースキャナーが導入されていると聞きました。これで、ボクの不便が解消されればいいのですが。
