June 22, 2021: “Night Doctor” by Fuji TV (フジテレビの新ドラマ「ナイト ドクター」)

Yesterday, I watched a new TV drama “Night Doctor” starred by Haru. It is the story of 5 emergency physicians who work only at night at a hospital. The drama had scenes that I had hardly seen in previous medical dramas: it used longer time than usual to depict that 2 people died in spite of their hard effort to save their lives. These scenes were fresh to me since I have never seen scenes in other similar dramas that so seriously portray the death. The drama also had funny scenes. As a whole, I enjoyed the high-quality drama very much and I am looking forward to watching the next episode.

昨日からはじまった、波留さん主演の新ドラマ「ナイト ドクター」を観ました。夜間専門の救急医 5人が主役のドラマですが、従来の医療ドラマと違う場面があり、非常に面白かったです。今までの医療ドラマでは、亡くなる人の姿を真剣に描く場面はあまりありませんでしたが、このドラマでは2名の方が亡くなる場面が時間を使って描かれていました。これには少し驚かされたと同時に新鮮でした。また、コミカルな場面もあり、全体として非常に質の高い作品です。次回以降に期待です。
