April 11, 2022：Amazon Prime Video、魅力的な作品（Amazon Prime Video, Fascinating Works）
I have been increasingly using Amazon Prime Video on my smart TV. I have made it a habit to use the video when I have no fascinating TV program. It seems to displease my wife. She has no interest in most of my favourite films and dramas.
I have withstood such a pressure to continue to watch dramas and was fascinated by two works so much. One of them is the Night Manger. It is a television serial of the novel of the same title by John le Carre and the story of a former British soldier infiltrating the inner circle of an arms dealer. It was very thrilling and compelling.
The other work is the King's Choice. It is a Norwegian film about King Haakon VII and his family in the days before and immediately after the German invasion of Norway in 1940. It reminds me of Ukraine now resisting the Russian invasion.
スマートテレビでアマゾンのPrime Videoを観る機会がめっきり増えました。観たいテレビ番組がないときは、Prime Videoで映画やドラマを検索するのが習慣化してきました。これが、ボスの不興を買っています。ボクが選ぶ映画やドラマはまったく興味湧かないと不満を言われます。
不満に耐えてながらドラマや映画を見続けています。その中で、「ナイト・マネジャー」と「ヒトラーに屈しなかった国王」に魅了されました。
「ナイト・マネジャー」は、ジョン・ルカレの同名のスパイ小説をドラマ化したものです。諜報機関に協力することになった元兵士が武器業者に潜入する話です。非常にスリリングで、惹きつけられる作品です。
もう一つの「ヒトラーに屈しなかった国王」は、ナチス・ドイツ軍の侵攻に激しく抵抗したノルウェー国王ホーコン7世を描いた歴史ドラマです。ウクライナがロシアに抵抗する姿を連想させます。
