October 4, 2021：キングオブコント、空気階段、東野幸治、競争は必要 (King of Conto, Kukikaidan, Koji Higashino, Competition Is Must )

 On October 2, 2021, Kukikaidan, a sketch duo, won the King of Conte, an annual comedy competition. As their first performance was far better than other performers and gave me a big laugh, I was confident of their victory. Also, I admire them for their sustained efforts to improve their sketching skills through their performances at a theatre fifty times a month.
 Koji Higashino, another comedian, also has been making considerable efforts to improve his comic communication skills. He is already famous for his skills but is still trying to improve them. In particular, his skills are brilliant at the TV program “Marco Polori” aired by Kansai TV in the Kansa region and also available on Saitama TV.
 Comedians are in unprecedented fierce competition in Japan. Only within Yoshimoto Kogyo, around 6,000 comedians are subject to the competition. I agree that competition is necessary to vitalize and transform any world and system to a certain degree, as it has helped to improve me.
However, in Japan, there is a system with no fair competition and under its old-fashioned rules. What is worse, it can only be changed or transformed by insiders.

　キングオブコントは、空気階段が優勝した。予選のコントが圧倒的に面白かったので、今年は優勝間違いなしと確信していた。優勝後のインタビューで、二人が月に50本ものライブに出演していると聞いてびっくりした。コントにかける二人の意気込みに敬服する。
　お笑いにかけているといえば、東野幸治さんもその一人だ。もともと話術には定評がありましたが、ますます磨きがかかっています。特に、「マルコポロリ」（関西テレビ）の東野さんが秀逸です。
お笑い芸人さんの世界は、他に類をみないほどの過当競争の社会です。吉本興業だけでもお笑いにかける芸人さんが6000人もいます。程度の差はあれ、どの世界にも競争は必要だと思う。競争があるからこそ、自分も成長できていると考えている。
　ところが、社会には公平な競争が成り立っていない仕組みもある。なお、やっかいなのことに、この仕組みは内輪の人しか変えられないことである。
