英語日記　No.50

Hello, Diary, 

Today, I learned about Easy Japanese, which has been implemented by local governments. It offers a simpler alternative to standard Japanese for easier communication with foreign residents regarding various aspects of life in Japan. Easy Japanese was developed after the Hanshin Awaji Earthquake in 1995 because, reportedly, foreign residents in the affected areas had difficulty accessing shelters and obtaining other critical information. 

Also, I found a website called NEWS WEB EASY, which features news articles written in Easy Japanese. I want to utilize these articles as teaching materials for my lessons after I become a certified Japanese teacher. 

I think that not only foreigners but Japanese people need to learn about Easy Japanese to communicate with international residents. Japanese people should learn how to simplify standard Japanese into Easy Japanese for improved communication with them.
