英語日記 No.55
I have read several articles about a countermeasure against overtourism in Fujikawaguchiko, which has garnered a lot of attention. The town has started installing a large black screen to obstruct the view of Mt. Fuji at a popular photo spot. This spot became famous among foreign tourists after gaining popularity on social media.
All the articles I read highlight various disruptive behaviors from tourists, including littering and ignoring traffic regulations. It seems that local officials and residents cannot tolerate the selfishness of snap-happy tourists.
The idea of installing a large black screen to block the view of Mt. Fuji may not be aesthetically pleasing, but I think it's necessary for the safety of both tourists and motorists.
Japan is currently experiencing a surge in tourism, but at the same time, the increasing number of tourists has caused some issues. I truly hope that foreign tourists will respect local places and residents. I wonder why taking interesting pictures and posting them on social media is so important to them.
Thank you for reading my diary.
