英語日記　No.58

A few days ago, I watched a TV news segment mentioning that vending machines at small shops and restaurants won't accept a new set of banknotes, frustrating owners who need to buy expensive new machines compatible with the new series of banknotes. The segment also showcased two contrasting figures: the president of a vending machine manufacturing company, seen smiling, and the owner of a ramen restaurant, looking concerned. Reportedly, the introduction of the new notes will significantly impact ramen shops. Most of these shops use vending machines to print out orders. Some owners are exploring the idea of introducing a cashless payment sysytem, but this also comes at a high cost.
