英語日記 no. 66
For the past week, it's been really upsetting to read about what's going on in Gaza and Afghanistan. Israeli forces have continued their bombardment across the enclave, killing civilians daily, even though some articles mention that ceasefire negotiations are underway. The United Nations and the Security Council, whose roles are to protect world peace, are shamefully ineffective. It seems that they are just sitting idly, hoping for a miracle to happen.
In Afghanistan, a new decree was published by the Taliban government, which further restricts women's personal freedoms. The Taliban regards fear and intimidation as powerful weapons to control the Afghan people. I'm struggling to understand why they ban Afghan women's access to education, employment, and public life at large.
Thank you for reading my diary.
