こんにちは、BowGriP楽ゆ～びです。今回は、日本の心のふるさととも言える滋賀県近江八幡市を訪れました。この地は、豊かな自然と歴史が息づく場所で、訪れる人々に多くの魅力を提供しています。

まず足を運んだのは、長命寺です。ここは天台宗系単立の寺院で、山号は姨綺耶山。本尊は千手観音、十一面観音、聖観音の三尊を千手十一面聖観世音菩薩としています。聖徳太子の開基と伝わり、西国三十三所第31番札所としても知られています。2015年には、「琵琶湖とその水辺景観－祈りと暮らしの水遺産」として日本遺産に認定されました。

次に訪れたのは、安土城跡です。信長が天下統一の礎として約3年の月日をかけて完成させた城の跡地で、京都や北陸に近く、また琵琶湖の水運を利用できる戦略的な位置にあります。本能寺の変後に焼失しましたが、残る石垣や天主跡、本丸跡の礎石などから歴史の鼓動を感じることができます。

また、奥石神社も訪問しました。こちらは式内社で、旧社格は県社です。東老蘇集落の北、中山道沿いの老蘇森内に鎮座し、その歴史と神秘的な雰囲気に触れることができます。

A travel report by BowGriP Rakuyuubi. Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture (fiction)

Hello, this is BowGriP Rakuyuubi. This time, I visited Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture, which can be said to be the spiritual home of Japan. This place is rich in nature and history, and offers many attractions to visitors.

The first place I visited was Chomyoji Temple. This is an independent Tendai sect temple, and its mountain name is Mount Obakiya. The main deity is the three deities, the Thousand-Armed and Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva, the Thousand-Armed and Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva, the Holy Kannon. It is said to have been founded by Prince Shotoku, and is also known as the 31st temple of the Thirty-Three Temples of the Western Provinces. In 2015, it was certified as a Japanese Heritage Site as "Lake Biwa and its Waterside Landscape - Water Heritage of Prayer and Living".

The next place I visited was the ruins of Azuchi Castle. This is the site of a castle that Nobunaga completed in about three years as the foundation for unifying the country. It is close to Kyoto and Hokuriku, and is strategically located to take advantage of the water transport on Lake Biwa. Although it was burned down after the Honnoji Incident, you can feel the pulse of history from the stone walls, remains of the main tower, and foundation stones of the main citadel.

We also visited Okuishi Shrine. This is a shrine listed in the Shikinaisha (Engineering Statue) and was formerly a prefectural shrine. It is located in Omihachiman Forest, north of Higashi-Omihachiman Village, along the Nakasendo Road, and you can experience its history and mysterious atmosphere.

Omihachiman City is a wonderful place where its historical background and natural beauty are in harmony. It will provide visitors with peace of mind and new discoveries.
